I'm not a big fan of working on weekend, but when the schedule is tight, so be it. Noone else around here but me, another contractor, and the security. Finally some peace and quiet to work productively.
my client's next door neighbor is very active in his garden and taking care of many flowering shrubs in his yard - and I sure hope my similar plant blooms soon too!
This is a large sized watch box in European Walnut detailed with the client's initials in Fiddleback Sycamore with a Walnut Burr background. A matching Burr escutcheon and Sycamore edges complete the outside of the box.
The interior of the box is lined from top to bottom with velvet in navy blue colour. Six sections are provided for watches, each including a velvet lined pillow. An additional larger section is also provided.
A gloss finish in shellac and a brass lock completes the box.

Prom Dress Challenge - Students were assigned clients (fellow students) and had to design a dream prom dress according to their client's size and design
I was over at a client's house this afternoon taking measurements and photos for a renovation project they are doing, and I spotted these beautiful red blossoms on the ornamental tree outside their kitchen window. I'm amazed they are blooming here in Williamsburg when we have below freezing temps at night. Definitely a little burst of Spring in January.
BTW: They are Camellias

A test shot taken from one of the shots for a client's food shooting session.
The cup is placed on a white perspex on seamless table top.
3 flashlights altogether: One on camera left, the other on camera right, and one behind the perspex (behind the cup) pointing towards camera. The flashlight on left is shot via softbox, and the one on right shot through umbrella. One flashlight (bare) behind the perspex shooting towards camera, thus the shadow.
Food photography is a niche of its own, and for me - one of the hardest. And since we're doing photo shoot for a fast-food chain, almost all of the shots are taken at f/22 to make graphic designer's job easier (in etching out pictures from background). Extreme attention to details (we're talking makro here), and in need of a damn good food stylist.
This one here is not a final shot.
Are you happy with your outdoor space?
‘I always work to the client’s brief,’ smiles garden designer, Pip O’Brien. ‘It’s my responsibility to make their ideas a reality, whether that means creating a retreat with year-round colour, a clean, ultra-modern concept or a low-maintenance space that accommodates a vegetable patch, children’s play area, pond or work studio.’
Having caught the gardening bug helping her grandmother, Pip studied Horticulture at Reading University and worked as a gardening journalist. Seeking a job that fitted better around her children, she then launched a design consultancy. She has won medals at the Chelsea, Hampton Court and Zurich Flower Shows and built a successful business specialising in London gardens.
‘I take time to chat in detail to every new client (the first consultation is free), look at the site and ask questions. Armed with that information, I write a fully-costed proposal. I will design from scratch or refine an existing space and my experienced contractors will build it.’ And does Pip have a signature style? ‘I love plants. Without spending a fortune, you can make such a difference with them. Plants just make people – and wildlife – happy.’

The client’s annual banquet applauds the yearly accomplishments of its growing staff with cocktails, dinner, and an awards show for 1500 people. In addition to the carpet and pipe-and-drape lining of the entire expanse of the concrete exhibit hall, our company provided staging and décor for the event including two “trees of life,” corrugated metal panels, lit ceiling treatments, arching banners, and column treatments. Our company produced seven vignettes which highlighted aspects and attributes of each award being presented during the program. Another new addition to the event was the HoloPro® transparent projection system for directing traffic and communicating agenda information.
