Here is a custom built bar and grill area designed for client's free standing grill which slides in.
REFLECTION OF MINERAL
The site is located near the center of Tokyo. It is a small 44m2 corner plot bounded by two streets. Conforming to legal conditions and in response to the client’s wish for a ‘roofed garage’ the volume was trimmed from various directions. Using the words ‘Mineral’ and ‘reflection’ as guiding concepts, Atelier Tekuto proceeded to use subtraction as a positive tool for design.
MINERAL
Minerals are phenomena that combine abstract properties (conceptual objects) with nonfigurative properties (objects whose presence of matter is more tangible). Changes from transparent to translucent to opaque occur according to light intensity and angle. The mineral body cannot be regarded as a simple element.
REFLECTION
Reflection is a recent concept pertaining to the perception of space. Vision is an important factor in the recognition of space. By controlling geometries (facets with three factors: transparent, translucent and opaque) and entangling them in a three-dimensional way inside the internal space, visual reflection is induced. This results in a deviation from the restrictiveness of space.
As people move inside the space, or as light enters from changing angles, the facet’s presence changes, creating a dynamic space. In contrast to the abstractness of the polyhedron are the kitchen, counter shelf, stairs, floors and toilet box equipped with functionality that exist as nonfigurative objects.
The third floor bathroom unit features a mirror finish in stainless steel, which combines both concepts of object and reflection, and presents itself as a substitution of both ‘minerals’ and ‘reflection’.
The Relationship with the surrounding environment is expressed in the small plaza open to the street, a piloti like space that emerged after placing the garage on ground floor. Its liberating feeling might trigger some change in the surrounding streetscape.

敷地は東京の住宅密集地にあり、5.15mと3.70mの道路に鋭角に挟まれた、44.62㎡の小さな異形敷地である。建築法規的に道路斜線が二方向からかかり北側斜線も含め、最大ボリュームの形が多角形に切り取られる。
若きクライアントの3つの要望（面白い・最大ボリュームの確保・屋根付き駐車場）と敷地が持つ絶対条件から最初に思い描いたものは地中に『鉱物』が埋れているイメージ。
様々な角度から受ける規制と採光、住居としてのスペースを最大ボリュームから削りとり、多角形がもつ面の構成を壁・床・天井・開口と、建築における空間構成へ置換して形態を決定した。
その行為はダイヤモンドの価値を決めるのに最も重要されるCutと同様である。

Job Purpose:
Working across various accounts to manage the day-to-day running of Client’s social media properties and to support the Social Media Director in creating strategic social campaigns and programmes.
Key responsibilities:
1. All day-to-day management and participation for Client’s social media properties (such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs), including producing regular posts and content, content uploading, moderation, outreach and any other appropriate duties.
2. Creating and managing relationships with key influencers, bloggers and forum owners.
3. Supporting the Social Media Director and client account teams across TribalDDB and DDB London (‘the Agency’) in the development of social media proposals, consulting, strategies, engagements and evaluation.
4. Working with Clients and partner agencies to implement a rigorous approach to evaluation which demonstrates the business impact of social media projects.
5. Management of the Agency’s social media related blog and Twitter presence.
Key competencies/experience required:
• A solid understanding of social media and the role it plays in the digital ecosystem.
• Extensive experience of community management and moderation for a large, global blue-chip company.
• Ability to design and produce social media programmes.
• Ability to demonstrate ongoing engagement and activation strategies.
• Experience using content distribution techniques to extend the spread of content across multiple platforms and sites.
• Excellent copywriting and editing skills and experience in creating content and publishing calendars for social media platforms.

The SP-8 is an uncompromising thoroughbred roadster crafted on the F8 Spider architecture

Maranello, 24 October 2023 – Ferrari today unveiled the latest addition to its One-Off series, the Ferrari SP-8. Part of the marque’s Special Projects programme and designed by the Flavio Manzoni-headed Ferrari Styling Centre, it is a mid-rear-engined V8 based on the F8 Spider from which it inherits its layout, chassis and engine. The SP-8 one-off joins the hallowed ranks of the most exclusive segment in the Ferrari range, unique cars crafted around individual clients’ specifications, with the result that they embody the very pinnacle of Prancing Horse customisation.
The car’s name celebrates its 3.9-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, one of the most critically-acclaimed power units in history and the winner of the prestigious Engine of the Year (IEOTY) award on four consecutive occasions. As the client that commissioned the SP-8 hails from Taiwan, the number 8 is also significant as it considered extremely lucky in Chinese culture, traditionally auguring success, good fortune and personal achievement.
The SP-8’s most unique feature is the fact that it has no roof, making it a thoroughbred two-seater roadster in every respect, underscoring its sporty character and the instantly exhilarating visual and en plein air driving experience it delivers. This solution demanded extensive refining of its aerodynamics through a combination of CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing and track testing to guarantee a standard of acoustic comfort and wind feeling comparable to the car that inspired it.
The car’s main styling theme centres around the way in which its volumes crossover and fuse into one another: the unpainted carbon-fibre front wraps around to the tail, creating a two-tone effect that creates a powerful contrast in terms of both colour and materials. The elimination of the retractable hard top allowed the designers to radically restyle the entire tail section, giving it a full volume with a taut belt line. The car’s volume is divided into two parts which are connected by a functional central area in matte black that includes the side air intakes with separate ducts for the intercoolers and engine. The upper section of this band incorporates a vent for the engine compartment with longitudinal elements that reference the lateral strakes typical of Ferraris of the past.
Tiny things.....about 6.5 mm. All fabricated from scratch....and hollow....using the client's very mismatched diamonds....each earring has 9 parts....a front, back, post and six prongs. Pavé work is hard to photograph....for me and my point and shoot camera, anyway. Rhodium plated. So named because of the pizza-like back surface and texture.

“As an architect, Paul Mulhern took on a very tricky project for me at the above address, a Seventies terraced house on a long narrow site in a housing estate. This was a house that had been lived in wisely for a while but latterly not too well.
My brief to him was to illuminate what had become a murky, dark, cramped and very dilapidated property by creating a space filled with light and air. I also wanted him to bring it up to modern standards of insulation, wiring and plumbing, and thereby making snug what had been damp and cold.
On such a site, the brief seemed impossible and when I led him into the property in its original condition, I expected him to be daunted, even to refuse to have anything to do with it, but his reaction was immediately to see it as a challenge.
And how brilliantly he overcame that challenge! While remaining aware of my relatively limited budget, the design he produced involved gutting the entire house and opening it up to light from the roof, via three voids. The result is the fulfilment of my own dream, the testament to which is the steady stream of neighbours arriving on various pretexts but with the obvious aim of being invited in.
Throughout the construction vicissitudes (and there were many, none of his making) he remained steadily supportive to me in what was a very difficult and long process. I cannot praise him highly enough for his tenacity, his concentration on what was best for the house and for me as a client - and not least for his calm tact when things fell apart, as they frequently did.
His professionalism and collaborative spirit are outstanding but overarching all of the above, his creativity and vision were and are superb”.
