Ferrari has revealed its F12 TRS. A one-off model unveiled at the third Ferrari Cavalcade event, it is a more extreme version of the F12 Berlinetta, produced at a client’s request. Taking inspiration from the 1957 250 Testa Rossa, it’s designed to be a more modern version of the two-seat, open-top sports Barchetta.
The F12 TRS has performance figures equal to those of the F12 Berlinetta. Its 6.3-litre V12 produces 730bhp and 509lb ft, endowing it with a 3.1sec 0-60 time, 0-124mph taking 8.1sec. The F12 also looks the part brandishing the signature sharp Ferrari nose with a dark contrasting windscreen. The mighty V12’s red cylinder heads are visible through an engine lid window, a styling flourish borrowed from Ferrari’s mid-engined V8 supercars, most recently the 458 Speciale.
The car has been stripped to the ‘barest driving essentials’ creating a lighter, sportier cockpit at the expense of comfort. Ferrari has cut back air conditioning controls and completely removed the glove box, window controls and audio system amongst other things. The interior consists primarily of black matt carbonfibre, leather and Alcantara. The classic red paint of the exterior is also utilised on the door panels and central tunnel.

"I paint my life's canvas with my heart. That means
I must know what my heart wants. So for today,
I journal about my heart's desires and look for

The sweetest of little guys. Barely fussed at all. The floor was the client's tile floor and I just cloned out the grout. I wasn't sure I would love it in the photo but I think the tones work well. I was just too tired and hot at this point to drag out my fake floors, and there wasn't much room anyways, it would have been a PITA, lol! I think the tile works!
I've been working on a client's landscape for a week and I think I'm finished!
They were looking for a modern tropical style, with interactive elements. This landscape is complete with a walking path from the house down to the beach, a long road, custom driveway and gate structure, tennis court, taco stand, bonfire on the beach, and Jet-ski dock.
The front and back are lit with accent lighting controlled by a switch to be turned on and off.

And I believe I'm gonna rain.
Kinda crap day at work yesterday--techincal frustrations as well as the video just not coming together properly. Partly it's the client's fault (this is the same video as the stop-action clip I loaded), but partly it's that the producer I recommended hasn't been preventing the client from making poor decisions.
Then we got a call from a major production co. in TN looking for an occasional edit suite in Atlanta, capable of HD editing. This place isn't yet, but is on the verge of upgrading. Which is what I told them. The new owner, who's an aggressive businessman type with no television experience at all, mildly took me to task for not telling him we could do it, then we'd outsource it. Not that that would have worked... they wanted a suite they could ATTEND an edit session in. But it still got under my skin.
Went to the friendly, conversational bear bar in town, and knew virtually nobody there, so I nursed a drink in the corner while everyone watched the end of the Hawks game, then on my way home, I decided to give my local bar, Mary's, one more chance.
It's about the size of a bowling alley. Not the whole building... I mean a single alley. I walk in, and the music's so loud I literally have to shriek my order at the bartender, who's only 2 feet away.
As usual, it's populated by a mix of self-consciously arty types with questionable hygiene and/or fashion sense, a large number of dressed-for-clubbing straight 20-something women being pulled through the crowd, holding hands, by their even-girlier-than-them gay boyfriends, and.. well... lots of men with excessive sibilance. I'm 20 years older than the average age in the bar.
So I stand there, first on the back deck, then in a dark corner, while the blaring TV/music system plays videos by (in this order):
Justin Timberlake
Janet Jackson
Britney Spears
and some video with a mostly naked, big-boobed woman killing her boyfriend with a shovel while he's tied up in the trunk of her car.
When Rhianna came on, I decided it was time to leave.
I'm not sure where I belong, but it's not there.
This would have something to do with the sense of isolation and alienation in last night's post. That, and my increasing palpitations over needing to start cold-calling possible clients.
I was up so late last night, I slept in til past noon. It's 2 pm and I'm finally waking up enough to function. It's gonna rain this afternoon. I think it's a "Go Watch Iron Man" day.
This cake was a 3D representation of the client's baby shower invitations. We think it came out spectacular.

As a portrait artist, feedback on commissions means the world to me. The client's opinion is the only one that matters ...and it matters A LOT.
So it means so much to me when people take the time to let me know what their portraits mean to them, or if they were surprises, how they were received. They don't just brighten my day - they keep me drawing!
This is a pastel portrait of Macy, commissioned as a surprise Christmas present and a poignant project to work on. These are the ones that you don't want to get wrong. Thank you to Lizzie Coltman for giving me the chance to work on such lovely and satisfying project ...and Simon Pilmer for your wonderful feedback.
So here's a little more about Macy: a Rottweiler, Staffordshire Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback cross, was an intuitive soul. In her owner's words, 'She was a beautiful girl with a huge heart. I find it hard to describe the bond we shared and just how much she really meant to me. I don't know how but she always knew how I felt and she was always there to support me in her own special way.
She really was quite a character. We had about four acres of land for her to run free, she loved chasing rabbits going for walks on the beach and through woodlands and howling when police sirens passed. We took her everywhere, even punting through Cambridge a couple of times! She had a litter of eight puppies just by accident a few years ago when we rescued a male Spanish Mastiff named "Pablo". She had an amazing life, we all loved her to pieces, but to me and my sister we had a special bond.
Sadly she developed an aggressive cancerous tumor and there was nothing we could do, it was too late. She was eleven years old when she past away and the photo was taken about four months before we lost her. So it's especially close to my heart.'
I feel like I have an amazing monument to her life now. I would have loved to have buried her at the house she spent the majority of her time but sadly that wasn't possible. So we scattered her ashes at her favorite walking spot at Wimpole Hall Estate, but visiting there to pay my respects isn't how I imagined. But now I have this incredible memory of her and her spirit that I can keep as a tribute to her life.'
Thank you to all my clients for enabling me to keep doing what I love.
As always, more info on commisions etc can be found on my website:

one of many small alleys in Venice. Some of them open up to a plaza after several blocks; some of them lead you right up to a canal; and some bring you to a veritable dead end. And it's often impossible to tell at the beginning of the journey (though I assume the "locals" do know, having grown up in such a maze)
*************************
I’ve been to Venice once or twice for brief business trips during my life, which had the same characteristics as the business trips I described in a separate Flickr album about Paris — i.e., they basically involve flying into a busy airport at night, taking a taxi to a generic business-traveler’s hotel (a Hilton in Venice looks just like a Hilton in Cairo, except perhaps for the canal outside the main entrance), and then spending several days working in the hotel (if the purpose of the trip was a seminar or computer conference), or at a client’s office (also “generic” in most cases — you can’t even tell what floor you’re on when you get off the elevator, because every floor of “open office” layouts is the same). The trip usually ends in the late afternoon or evening of the final day, with a mad dash back to the airport to catch the last plane home to NYC. Thus, a business trip to Venice is almost indistinguishable from a business trip to Omaha. Or Albany. Or Tokyo.
But Venice is different from almost any other place in the world, and I’ve had a couple of vacation trips to experience that side of the city. But it’s been a long, long time: the first such visit was back in 1976 (which you can see here on Flickr), and the second visit was in 1983 (pictures of which do exist on Flickr, but have been restricted to family-only access, since they consist mostly of boring pictures of drooling babies and kids sticking their collective tongues out at me).
Thirty years is a long time between visits … but for a city like Venice, I doubt that very much has changed. Well, perhaps there wasn’t a McDonald’s outlet in Venice when I first came here (and I did photograph one such outlet on this current visit, which you’ll find in this album), and you can certainly guarantee that people weren’t walking around with cellphones and smartphones the way they are today. And while the tourists typically did have cameras back in the good-old-days, they were typically modest little “Instamatic” film-based gadgets, rather than the big, garish, DSLR cameras that everyone now seems to carry around with them, complete with advertising logos all over the camera-straps and bodies to remind you that they, too, can afford to buy an expensive Canon or Nikon gadget that they really don’t know how to use properly. (Sorry, I got carried away there …)
But the buildings, and the people, and the canals, and the gondolas … all of that is the same. And that’s what I’ve tried to capture in this set of photos. The tourist crowds are now so thick (even in May!) that I didn’t even bother going to the square at San Marco, and I didn’t bother taking any photos from the Rialto bridge over the Grand Canal; but you will see some photos of tourists in this album, along with photos of the local people who are still here …
I don’t expect to come back to Venice again in the next year or two … but if it turns out to be 20 or 30 years before my next return, I suspect it will all look pretty much exactly the same as it did on this trip, and in 1983, and when I first saw it in 1976.
Fun unlimited. Joy unleashed at the office get-together on the eve of client's visit to Infoway India office. Life bindas!
The site is located near the center of Tokyo. It is a small 44m2 corner plot bounded by two streets. Conforming to legal conditions and in response to the client’s wish for a ‘roofed garage’ the volume was trimmed from various directions. Using the words ‘Mineral’ and ‘reflection’ as guiding concepts, Atelier Tekuto proceeded to use subtraction as a positive tool for design.
MINERAL
Minerals are phenomena that combine abstract properties (conceptual objects) with nonfigurative properties (objects whose presence of matter is more tangible). Changes from transparent to translucent to opaque occur according to light intensity and angle. The mineral body cannot be regarded as a simple element.
REFLECTION
Reflection is a recent concept pertaining to the perception of space. Vision is an important factor in the recognition of space. By controlling geometries (facets with three factors: transparent, translucent and opaque) and entangling them in a three-dimensional way inside the internal space, visual reflection is induced. This results in a deviation from the restrictiveness of space.
As people move inside the space, or as light enters from changing angles, the facet’s presence changes, creating a dynamic space. In contrast to the abstractness of the polyhedron are the kitchen, counter shelf, stairs, floors and toilet box equipped with functionality that exist as nonfigurative objects. The third floor bathroom unit features a mirror finish in stainless steel, which combines both concepts of object and reflection, and presents itself as a substitution of both ‘minerals’ and ‘reflection’.
The Relationship with the surrounding environment is expressed in the small plaza open to the street, a piloti like space that emerged after placing the garage on ground floor. Its liberating feeling might trigger some change in the surrounding streetscape.

I found this snake today in one of my client's yard. I believe it's a gopher snake. I'm going to let it go in the desert. Yes, I am holding it.
a pendant necklace made with my client's pig tusks ...
This necklace was made using my client's pet pig tusks.
The sterling silver feather and use of blue lapis and red garnet were used in memory of her pet parrot also ...
A tough, lowish growing California native Fuchsia that takes full sun and is drought tolerant once established! Not your typical fuchsia. : - )
So this was entirely the client's idea, and I gotta say that it freaked me out, lol. I was so nervous shooting this, I was standing on their hot tub and the Dad was hiding behind the tree holding the little guy in there.
shot taken during 2010 countdown, I was at the KL Tower the revolving restaurant (can't remember the restaurant name) attending my client's dinner party... as usual lazy me never will bring tripod to the dinner but managed to hide my 40D in my bag :D took so many shot via handheld, this is the best for me to consider... the rest with fire works are look bad as pretty blur...

I had a great time shooting these 120lb Newfoundlands. This was a brief moment of calm during an otherwise very chaotic but fun shoot.
For Strobists: AB800 Camera Left medium softbox, AB800 camera right Large Softbox, both at full power. AB800 Left /behind and AB800 Right/behind both flagged to prevent flare both at 2/3 power, SB600 up high to throw some light on the tops of their heads. These huge dogs with their thick black velvety coats sucked up the light. Didn't help that I had to shoot at about F16 to get both relatively sharp. They were rarely on the same plane.
converted to b/w and removed slobber/drool per the client's request.

Al Parker (1906-85) was one of the Great American Illustrators of mid-century America. From his suburban home in New Rochelle, NY he produced an enormous volume of print-ready illustrations for editorial and commercial clients. Like most of his neighbours in New Rochelle (who between them accounted for half the published illustration in the US at that time) he was a consummate professional taking pride in offering a wide variety of styles and delivering work on time and to the client’s brief. Above all else Parker was a master of asymmetric composition and spatial organisation equally at home with shallow compressed space and deep plunges from foreground to distant horizons. Every physical gesture was analysed and brilliantly portrayed then orchestrated into a complex ensemble of dynamic contrasts. Parker had a long association with American Airlines and these examples are an opportunity to observe his compositional skills fully extended as he meets the challenge of composing in a letterbox format. 1953
