On 16 March 2020 all YPRL branches (including book return chutes) were closed after the Victorian State Government declared a State of Emergency in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time Ivanhoe Library staff worked to clean out the building in preparation for its demolition prior to the opening of the new Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub Project later in 2020. Staff vacated the building on 31 May.

Howard Beach and Lindenwood Queens NY hurricane flood damage cleanup. We were on the scene cleaning out all the water damaged garbage in the area.
When you handle a complete kitchen cleanout in a house you've lived in for over 20 years, you find out disturbing things about yourself. We have cabinets we haven't seen the back of for a decade.
Apparently, I was once the kind of person who accumulated THREE COMPLETE fondue sets. Believe me, I was very, very young in the Sixties. I was not giving frequent fondue parties. But now, I'm going to have to get in touch with my Sixties alter-ego and have some fondue parties. For ten or twelve of my closest friends. Because I have that much fondue-related equipment.

The first time we powerwashed the pond since being built in 2006. This is while pumping out dirty water and stopping to retrieve koi and goldfish.

No space to put anything, I filled 5 recycle and trash bins with paper and junk shoved into all corners of store.

The final trash pick-up. We kept our fingers crossed that the trash men would take it all, and they did. I throw stuff away, but still it seemed like we had a mountain of junk!
