What a beautiful park! Arches and Utah in general have caught my attention, this is by far one of the most fantastic places on earth. So many rock formations and so much light. This picture is taken from an easy vantage point, no difficult hike, the beauty is overflowing and accessible here!

There are hundreds of waterfalls to explore in the vast rainforests of Bali. Sekumpul is one of the most impressive.

Endless sunflowers bloom under a clear sky in Tierra de Campos, painting the landscape with the warmth of summer.

Nothing like Autumn in New Hampshire... except Autumn in Vermont and in sometimes Maine...

But this is New Hampshire. This historic building in the sun and clouds captured my eyes. If not for a few cars and athletic equipment in the foreground, I'd have photographed this all the way to to the bottom.

Had to do some homework and found out this place is now a set of condos!

The PR1 VRM – Costa dos Castanheiros pedestrian trail, in Serra da Cabreira, Vieira do Minho, offers an immersion in a mixed forest landscape, where hardwoods and conifers coexist in a biogeographic transition ecosystem. In autumn, the ground is covered with a carpet of copper-colored leaves, mainly from the chestnut trees that give the route its name and which, historically, were essential to the rural economy of Minho. The moss and lichens that cover the trunks are indicators of the region's high humidity and air quality. The mountain range, with altitudes up to 1262 meters, is part of the network of protected areas in Northern Portugal and is home to a diversity of flora and fauna, including roe deer, wild boar and even the Iberian wolf. This 6.25 km circular route allows you to observe the dynamics of this natural system and the importance of chestnut trees for the landscape and local communities.

love the fragrance of the earth after a rain shower

HDR landscape taken off the highway running through the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada east of Calgary.

What I love about places like our national parks is that you can always count on the environment to adapt naturally, yet the beauty never truly changes. In this image, taken in Grand Teton NP in Wyoming during late winter 2 years ago, this beauty can be recaptured year after year ... though the seasonal changes show adaption, the beauty persists.

I just love the winter season when we're traveling ... for I don't get it at my home. Perhaps one day if I lived with it daily, I would feel differently, though somehow I doubt it.

I love this shot because of the way that the glistening stream waters, which are carved through the sparkling snow cover, wind effortlessly towards the mountains in the far distance, through the path of trees. It makes me happy to see such scenes as it makes me feel so welcomed within nature and our outdoor spaces. Let's hope that our national parks and recreational lands remain preserved for many generations to come, as they were intended when they were created. :-)

Thanks for stopping by to view and Happy Thursday everyone!

Each year when I go up to the Sierra Nevada for my fall foliage hunt, I make sure to drive up into Rock Creek Canyon. The level of color varies depending on my timing, but the views of the mountain peaks never disappoints. This is the time that snow crowns upper regions and begins to creek downward.

Milka had her monthly "butt shot" (Adequan) yesterday and the vet remarked on her leg muscles which are finally noticeable again. Not quite Arnold Schwarzenegger but an improvement nonetheless. She weighed in at 63.3. lbs, her pre-injury weight (after her two ACL injuries she had dropped down to 57 lbs due to loss of muscle mass following months of rest). We are still working on lengthening our walks, ever so slowly, but things are looking up. She seems more active and much happier overall.

Those were nine very long months....
