Can you see what I see?

 

It looks to me like two titans going at each other in the clouds. The face of the beast on the left is confronting the horned creature on the right.

 

This phenomenon known as "pareidolia" was once considered a form of mental illness - seeing random shapes in meaningful forms. Now of course, such anthropomorphisms are recognised as ways that human beings have created a sense of meaning in their world. More than that, some psychologists see it as a marker of creativity related to the constructive use of the imagination. So what do you see?

 

At least one theory of religion has been created from this idea. Stewart Elliott Guthrie in his book, "Faces in the Clouds: A New Theory of Religion" (Oxford University Press, 1993). This has led some people to seeing things like pyramids or Sphinxes on the surface of Mars. The most famous of these Martian examples were the "canals" that were supposedly seen by the late 19th century astronomer, Percival Lowell (he first published about this in 1895). This is likely to have inspired the great imagination of H.G. Wells, who two years later produced the novel, "War of the Worlds" in serial form. It was a huge success (as was Orson Wells' radio play some decades later).

 

And so we are back to "Clash of the Titans".

Taken on the28/12/2011 at 16:18:54Hrs GMT using a Nikon D3100 camera with an AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR+ a 52mm UV Filter.

On the island of Gozo in Malta, The Azure Window is a natural arch located near the village of Dwejra. This landmark was created thousands of years ago when two limestone caves collapsed. This photograph was taken in Dec 2011 & apparently in April 2012 there was a further collapse, which has significantly, changed the view.

Interesting to watch this unfold on the pool this morning. 3 years ago, a pair of Canada geese forced a pair of Mute swans to desert their nest & took it over. The Canada geese pair have assumed rights to the pool & drive all other geese away. The female Mute swan arrived with one juvenile, the other juvenile followed 2 minutes later. The Canada geese were in the meadow & advanced to pool swimming towards the Swans in an threatening manner. The female Swan was not standing for that & the Canada goose thought better of it & turned round & fled. Interesting to watch, the goose had obviously forgotten - you do not mess with a mother with young

usually it’s a lot of posturing and gesturing - bearing their teeth, roaring at each other and belly slapping on the sand

 

however when it escalates they really can move, are real their huge bulk up to crash down on the other and get in a position where they can bite each other

 

the first shot below was just as it kicked off – and you can see a close by mother seal immediately try and get her pup out of harm’s way

 

and bizarrely the last shot shows a moment they both calmed down a bit as another little lady sauntered past!

Yes, I know. You think I am an evil human being. I had no idea my little mantra, which was going to be placed front and center on a Tee Shirt, would actually come to pass, sort of, on the morning of October 2, 2020, with the announcement that the First Couple of the United States had tested positive for COVID-19.

 

With trumps death from natural causes, I surmised we would never have to hear that raspy, cloyingly annoying voice ever again bullying, insulting or humiliating anyone. Never again be told lies, half truths and conspiracy theory laden statements to create fear in those who are wont to believe his sort of trash. At least, those were and still are my thoughts. I certainly wouldn’t want another human to harm him, as then he would become a martyr to his cult, a Jim Jones of politics with statues erected in the parks of small towns in every red state. To me, it’s absolutely appalling to see the people who are usually publicly condemning him, other politicians, media people and so, so many of us ‘little folk” on social media who are shocked and sickened by him, his actions and the vast lies he tells, the dastardly deeds he does, the illegalities, financially and constitutionally, he is alleged to have made and the threats he continues to make, appalled that those same people are now ‘sending their prayers’, ‘best wishes for a speedy recovery”, ‘healing thoughts’ and other sappy Hallmark sentiments while you know damn well they are muttering under their breath, ‘Die, Die You Motherfucker’. But I understand their predicament. Being public figures they don’t want a backlash on their careers, their place in government or their particular religious beliefs on wishing someone dead. Me, I have no such boundaries. I do not subscribe to any past or present mythologies that cloud my logic as to what is right and what is wrong. And trump is wrong. Dead wrong.

 

I am not evil. In fact, based on what others think of me, I am a very good person. A nice person. Caring, kind, very aware and very respectful of the natural world around me and the life that is in it. I’m also aware that Donald J. Trump is the most dangerous threat to Democracy and freedom that this country, the United States of America, has ever seen. If Mother Nature does decide to eliminate that threat on a permanent basis, I’m all for it and am cheering her on. Rah-Rah Mother Nature! But I’m not holding out hope that she will permanently remove him from this mortal coil. With all the help and medical support anyone could wish for, I’m sure he will make a total recovery…..UNLESS…….

 

Being the consummate liar that is trump, it wouldn’t surprise me one iota to discover he is not really COVID19 positive. That he is totally faking it, creating another sham to avoid having to deal with another debate debacle, or maybe just a show to gain sympathy from his cult to gain votes from those who may have been swayed a bit with his White Supremacy support or his tax evasion or the fact he is the main reason for the misinformation circulating across the US regarding COVID19 along with his downplaying of the disease from the get go; even though he knew full well how dangerous and deadly it was, he thereby condemned to death thousands more people who may have survived if proper precautions had been taken early on instead of being ignored or mocked. Only time will tell.

 

I do hope Melania totally recovers from her symptoms, if she, too, really has them. I wish no ill will on her. I believe she had no idea what she was really getting into when she met trump, getting in far over her head, flailing and floundering ever since she preceded him down that golden escalator of the trump Tower. Almost as though she was being escorted by Satan himself on her way down to Hell.
