The clan jetties in Penang
The Clan Jetties of George Town only came about in the late 19th century, following the reclamation of the George Town waterfront that extended the shoreline outward.

The very popular Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie in the western Highlands of Scotland. This castle has a long history beginning in the 6th/7th century when this small island was used as the site for a chapel. The first castle was built here around 12th/13th century. It became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies, the Clan Macrae. However, in response to the Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite rebellions early in the 18th century, government ships destroyed the castle in 1719. It lay in ruins from then until 1911. The current building is Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap's 20th-century reconstruction of the old castle and was built between 1912 and 1932.
I think there must be a law that if you go to Scotland you have to visit this castle. It is such a Scottish icon.
We stayed in Fort William and went to Achnacarry to visit the Clan Cameron Museum. Just up the road from the museum was the home to the Camerons of Lochiel.
It was a real out of the way place but an interesting place to visit. I found my name in a book in the museum, but I am not sure we link back to the original Camerons of Lochiel.

The Drummond Clan originates from Perthshire in the Highlands of Scotland near Stirling. The phrase on the Clan crest says “Gang Warily.” It means “Go Carefully.” This phrase was not a glad tiding or well wish to travellers but a warning to others outside the clan. In fact, a Drummond was promoted to “Earl of Perth” for their loyalty to the King of Scotland and for fabricating field spikes or “caltrops” that took out charging English cavalry, evening the battlefield considerably.
PS This is not a fancy dress party. These are real people in the Highlands!

Sadly the cloud arriving at the wrong moment sort of put me off as I didn't get it where I wanted it. For the record its Merchant Navy class 35028 'Clan Line', seen just approaching Shakespeare tunnel with the 1Y94 1351 Dover Priory - London Victoria VSOE 11/9/25.
The Gangrel are one of the five clans of Kindred known for being primal, hardy and savage. They embody the myths of vampires turning into animals or otherwise changing forms. This clan is more closely connected to their Beast than other clans. Merchant Navy 35028 'Clan Line' passes Purley Oaks, on a wet June afternoon, working a Friday 'British Pullman' lunch working out and back from Victoria via the Surrey Hills.
It's lovely to see steam making a return to the main line after the lockdowns.
