The Clan Jetties of George Town only came about in the late 19th century, following the reclamation of the George Town waterfront that extended the shoreline outward.

A curious attraction of Georgetown are the houseboats of the southern wharves, a place know as Clan Jetty.
Originally these houses were the residence of Chinese maritime merchants and they are still inhabited by descendants of those Malay families.
In fact it is called Clan Jetty because in the past there are lived seven clans that dominated and wanted to control the monopoly of the maritime/sea market.

We stayed in Fort William and went to Achnacarry to visit the Clan Cameron Museum. Just up the road from the museum was the home to the Camerons of Lochiel.
It was a real out of the way place but an interesting place to visit. I found my name in a book in the museum, but I am not sure we link back to the original Camerons of Lochiel.

Did finally manage to capture the whole family of seven in frame. The three cubs on the left with the big boar centre and the sow on the right. One of the 2018 cubs at the rear with the second 2018 animal foraging over the back, I'm sure you will find it.
Since watching at this very local sett over the last nine years, five badgers had been the maximum seen during any yearly period. Ten cubs have been born throughout this time with 3 in 2013 - 2 in 2014 - 2 in 2018 - 3 in 2020

The meanings of the designs on totem poles are as varied as the cultures which make them. Totem poles may recount familiar legends, clan lineages, or notable events.
Mekhet are a clan in Vampire: the Requiem with an affinity to darkness. The hallmarks of the clan are stealth, finesse and wisdom.

Duntulm is believed to have been first fortified in the Iron Age, and the site continues to be associated with the name Dùn Dhaibhidh or "David's Fort". Later in life it was fortified by the Norse, and subsequently by their successors, the MacLeods of Skye. It would have been while it was under the MacLeod's tenure that James V visited the castle in 1540, where he was impressed by its strength and the quality of the hospitality on offer.
By the early 1600s, Trotternish was under the control of the MacLeod's rivals on Skye, the MacDonalds of Sleat. They appear to have made a number of improvements to the castle and it is possible that much of the structure recorded in the late 1800s, apart from the keep, dated back to this period. The MacDonalds abandoned the castle in about 1730 in favour of nearby Monkstadt House and then Armadale Castle in Sleat. Some say this was after a nursemaid accidentally dropped the baby son of the clan chief from a castle window above the cliffs. The ghost of the nursemaid, killed in retribution, is still said to wander the ruins. She is apparently kept company by the ghost of Hugh MacDonald, who plotted against the rightful clan chief in the 1600s, and who was starved to death in the dungeon at Duntulm.

Sadly the cloud arriving at the wrong moment sort of put me off as I didn't get it where I wanted it. For the record its Merchant Navy class 35028 'Clan Line', seen just approaching Shakespeare tunnel with the 1Y94 1351 Dover Priory - London Victoria VSOE 11/9/25.
Southern Railway rebuilt Merchant Navy 4-6-2 class locomotive No. 35028 'Clan Line' steams through Gloucestershire under leaden skies with The Cotswold Venturer, operated by the Railway Touring Company, on the return journey from Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington on 21st August 2021.
This beautiful castle overlooks the Firth of Clyde on the Ayrshire coast. It is there former home of the Marquess of Ailsa, the chief of Clan Kennedy. Nowadays, it is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
