Kilchurn Castle is a ruined 15th and 17th century structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Access to the Castle is sometimes restricted by higher-than-usual levels of water in the Loch, at which times the site effectively becomes a temporary island.
It was the ancestral home of the Campbells of Glen Orchy, who later became the Earls of Breadalbane also known as the Breadalbane family branch of the Clan Campbell.
The castle is maintained by Historic Scotland.
One of many old Chinese clan halls in Melaka / Malacca. It serves as a community space and normally has a temple or family altar too.
We stayed in Fort William and went to Achnacarry to visit the Clan Cameron Museum. Just up the road from the museum was the home to the Camerons of Lochiel.
It was a real out of the way place but an interesting place to visit. I found my name in a book in the museum, but I am not sure we link back to the original Camerons of Lochiel.

To defend the Manor of Headford in what is now County Galway, Ireland from the O’Flaherty raids across Lough Corrib, the De Burgos built two castles, Annaghkeen Castle and Carigin Castle to protect it from attacks across the lake.
Annaghkeen Castle pictured here is remarkable for its construction technique, as it was built entirely from undressed stone, without any mortar or cement. The stones were carefully selected and fitted together to form a solid structure that has survived for almost 700 years. The castle measures about 15 meters by 8 meters, and has walls that are about 1.5 meters thick.
The history of Annaghkeen Castle is intertwined with the history of the De Burgo family and their feud with the O’Flaherty clan. They engaged in constant warfare with their neighbours, especially the O’Flahertys, who refused to acknowledge their authority or pay them rent.
One of the most famous episodes of this feud occurred in the 16th century, when an O’Flaherty chieftain invited a De Burgo envoy to his castle at Aughnanure, near Oughterard, to discuss the rent issue. O’Flaherty treated his guest with great hospitality and invited him to join a banquet. During the feast, however, he pressed a hidden lever that opened a trapdoor under the De Burgo’s seat, sending him plunging into the river below. O’Flaherty then cut off his head and sent it back to his relatives as “O’Flaherty’s rent”.
The feud between the De Burgos and the O’Flaherty’s continued for centuries, until both families were weakened by internal divisions and external pressures. Annaghkeen Castle was eventually abandoned and fell into ruin. In the early 19th century, a new manor house was built nearby by another branch of the De Burgo family, but it was also deserted after the Great Famine of 1845-1849. Today, both buildings stand as silent witnesses of a turbulent past. (Text lifted from the Visit Galway site.)

Eilean Donan (Scottish Gaelic: Eilean Donnain) is a small tidal island where three lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh, in the western Highlands of Scotland; since the castle's restoration in the early 20th Century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland. A picturesque castle that frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island, which lies about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from the village of Dornie.
Eilean Donan is part of the Kintail National Scenic Area, one of 40 in Scotland. In 2001, the island had a recorded population of just one person, but there were no "usual residents" at the time of the 2011 census.
Eilean Donan, which means simply "island of Donnán", is named after Donnán of Eigg, a Celtic saint martyred in 617. Donnán is said to have established a church on the island, though no trace of this remains.
The castle was founded in the thirteenth century, and became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies the Clan Macrae. In the early eighteenth century the Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite rebellions led in 1719 to the castle's destruction by government ships. Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap's twentieth-century reconstruction of the ruins produced the present buildings.
Mekhet are a clan in Vampire: the Requiem with an affinity to darkness. The hallmarks of the clan are stealth, finesse and wisdom.
There is often a certain amount of finesse and refinement in whatever Mekhet do. Mekhet can appear as stealthy information-gatherers, spies, assassins or scholars; but just as well they can be aristocrats making their mark in the societies of the damned. A Mekhet bodyguard for example is unlikely to rely on brute force, but rather know an ornate fighting style. A Mekhet thief is gracious or invisible, not a sloppy vandal. To the others, Mekhet appear to be the most ordinary of the kindred, the ones who seem to have the least to distinguish them from other vampires. They watch and hide, and the other clans don't seem to take much notice of them. Because Mekhet alone from the major clans have no powers of control over animals or people, they prefer to work in secret behind the scenes, via conspiracies and shadow cults. The Drummond Clan originates from Perthshire in the Highlands of Scotland near Stirling. The phrase on the Clan crest says “Gang Warily.” It means “Go Carefully.” This phrase was not a glad tiding or well wish to travellers but a warning to others outside the clan. In fact, a Drummond was promoted to “Earl of Perth” for their loyalty to the King of Scotland and for fabricating field spikes or “caltrops” that took out charging English cavalry, evening the battlefield considerably.

Sadly the cloud arriving at the wrong moment sort of put me off as I didn't get it where I wanted it. For the record its Merchant Navy class 35028 'Clan Line', seen just approaching Shakespeare tunnel with the 1Y94 1351 Dover Priory - London Victoria VSOE 11/9/25.
The Gangrel are one of the five clans of Kindred known for being primal, hardy and savage. They embody the myths of vampires turning into animals or otherwise changing forms. This clan is more closely connected to their Beast than other clans. Many Kindred believe that the Gangrel clan is an old one, but due to the Gangrel's bestial nature, few records exist that can connect their origins to any specific time period. While the murky pre-history of the Kindred contains any number of legends about bestial vampires, not all of these things coincide with the hallmarks of the Gangrel.
