Now, now gentlemen, let's all try to remain civil. It's just a friendly card game, among friends... right?

Civil Twilight at North Point on Crow's Nest Mountain.

I was late on arrival for golden hour light, but the sky certainly put on a show once the sun went down. The vegetation had filled in from early spring when I was last there, but such a great spot with endless opportunity for compositions.

Hey everyone! I´m sorry for the lack of content as of lately. I haven´t had to much time to build anything recently. I have a lot of ideas for things to build though, but sadly I just can´t come to realize them. 😔 That being said, I am working on a MOC for a collab! So stay tuned for that. It´s set to release next month! There also is a Fallen Order WIP laying around here, where I´ve been working on the past like year or so from time to time. Nothing to big. I plan on finishing that as well, though again, because of the lack of time to build I haven´t made to much progress on that in a while. In the meantime, here is a Figbarf I made yesterday. I´ve been getting a lot of inspiration from Andor in recent weeks, but I figure you already guessed that by the look of these figs. 😄

Are you guys enjoying Andor? I love the show! Slow, but I don´t really mind that at all.

For the people going to Kloss22 in Norway at the end of the month or to Bricking Bavaria mid next month, I´m displaying there with the RebelLUG/Brickzlab people!

See you!

Going through more archives....mostly looking through photos from 2015. This was taken in September 2015 at the Civil War reenactment at Van Raalte Farm in Holland Michigan. Here is shot of a soldier before they went into battle.

I can't believe that it was 5 years ago that I went to this reenactment. Nothing going on this year, that stinks.

So would this be like street photography from the mid 1800's?

Street and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland.

A Pro-Palestine rally marches through the city as tensions rise when a Pro-Israeli rally approaches. A moment earlier there had been a sit-down protest in the middle of the street for this, what I believe to be, unsanctioned rally latching onto the March Against Racism rally earlier in the day.

I'm not a press photographer but, as a street shooter, I feel it is important to document life and times on our streets. With that in mind I ducked and dived through the midst of the protesters to get the shots that, for me, told the story. Enjoy!

Construção civil em Piracicaba

Confederates convinced themselves that if they showed up in force, Kentuckians would not be intimidated by the United States but would feel free to join the Confederate cause and would join in droves.

Kentuckians did not. Quite the opposite.

The border state had declared itself neutral at the outset of the secession of southern states in the hope of brokering a grand compromise between the North and South to prevent civil war. Kentuckians did not want war and did not want apocalyptic battles of carnage between their fellow countrymen in their own yard. Although a small minority, sizable and elite parts of the population in the state, supported the Confederacy, Kentuckians did not want citizens of their state to be at war with one another. That was not good state policy. So, neutrality.

Despite being part of a slave-owning state, when push came to shove, Kentuckians overwhelmingly felt more loyalty to the U.S. Constitution and the United States. "United we stand, divided we fall" had been its state motto since 1792.

Rural and urban Kentuckians–north, south, and east–joined overwhelmingly to fight on the side of the United States against the Confederacy. They voted for pro-Union state legislators so much that 4 out of 5* of Kentucky's legislators were pro-Union. Even before the Civil War pushed Kentucky to polarize even more in support of the Union, early in the war the state House of Representatives introduced and passed a law that made joining the Confederate army a traitorous act against Kentucky and illegal for Kentuckians in House Bill 36 of 1861. Regarding national congressmen at the outset of secession, Steven Bernstein in Kentucky in the Civil War 1861-1862 writes: "On June 20th, Kentuckians elected 10 Congressmen, 9 of whom were Unionist."

*Note: I'm going by memory on the 4:5 legislator data. I think this was from the book Kentucky's Civil War. I'm looking for the sources on this data now…
