Light on the cycle of life. Light and lines Series No. 4

Soon this Heart will dance in the Air

And then it falls down somewhere

It leaves its Tree's Twig bleeding

But this will soon be healing

There'll always be a next Spring

When a Robin starts to sing

The Leaf will show some green

Until Autumn - even with some Sheen

Again this Heart will turn to red

And after dancing above my Head

It falls on the Ground

With many other Leaf-Hearts around

.... That's the Circle of Life ...

As old trees bend and decay, new ones burst into colour in the swampy parts of Princess Point. I could have used snow shoes here. I framed up this shot over the course of a minute, and didn't realise I had sunk into the thick mud over my shoes in that time.

I've been away since September 27th having intensive back surgery, followed by Covid double pneumonia which I am still getting over, so I'll be taking my time blogging...I've had this lovely dress by Boudoir photographed for some time now and am finally uploading it. Vita and Precious, sorry about the long wait! I love this dress! Hope you both had a great holiday and vacation! ♥♥♥♥

Quite simply, we all wilt and fade away. All my inspirational music heroes are fading away.

It saddens me greatly. Unfortunately, there will be many more to come.

My latest tessellation, called "Circle of Life", that I created as a tribute for our cat Sissi.

On the left one side and on the right the other side. I like both sites, so no front or back in this one ;-)

I used duo-colored kraftpaper, yellow and red, but due to the backlight the two colors merged together. I like this color, because she liked the sun so much ;-)

Here you can see the development of this tessellation.

I’m trying to complete as many 52 week challenge themes as possible and I completely forgot about this one. You can be grateful I spared you the gull eating the duckling.

Since I've already posted a couple of photos of my Raspberry Wine Monarda, I decided to do something a little different. This is a composite of two shots of the flower at different stages of bloom. My grandmother was an incredible gardener. I always wish she could see how I now appreciate the flowers.

I decided to post process with selective colouring on this original full colour image to make the skeletal leaf in decay stand out.

Unfortunately, our car had engine trouble when I was on my way back home on Sunday (= yesterday) evening. The car had to be towed off the motorway and it was very late when I finally was at home again. I am very grateful that the malfunction didn't cause an accident and I am fine. But the repair will be quite expensive, grrr

So to cheer me up, here's another photo I took on Friday afternoon in the urban gardens.

It has been warm/hot and dry in the last few weeks, so the roses were suffering a bit, but looked still beautiful to me ... I loved the shades of pink of this rose-bush

I will try to catch up in the course of the week.

Please stay safe ... and Think Pink : ))

This Puma managed to catch a Patagonia Fox - - a very unusual catch - - our guide had worked in this area for over 15 years and has never witnessed this.

I made the photos during the folding process of each circle and I didn't flatted it, as you might notice ;-))

You can see the flatten end version here.

Life After Death; the circle of life.

Excerpt from www.peterrobsonstudios.com/sculptures.html:

The "CIRCLE OF LIFE" is a life-size sculpture consisting of three stone columns rising to a central point, forming arches. Throughout the structure are bronze figures depicting children playing hide and seek and relief sculptures on the interior of a young couple, a family with children and an elderly couple, completing the Circle of Life.

Over my many years of being blessed with an annual ¼ fishing – ¾ photography trip to the Juniper Club in Central Florida, I have watched this senecio play out dozens and dozens of times.

The cormorants hunting Silver Glen will herd schools of needle fish into tight groups and then go in for the kill. The needlefish seem to have no underwater defenses except to group up. As soon as this happens, they are picked off one by one until the cormorants have their fill. The needlefish seem to only have one life preserving defense, to make themselves into a circle by biting their own tail so they cannot be swallowed. Sadly, it doesn’t work for long as the cormorant will violently shake them out of it and ultimately feast.

Maybe at some point the needlefish will recognize its vastly superior numbers and God given dental structure and decide on another defensive strategy. Until it makes change, this is its life.
