crossing Sydney heads on the Manly ferry, January 2016. This is one of the Freshwater class ferries that are being phased out of service from 2021 despite widespread community opposition. These double ended ferries carrying just over 1000 passengers are a Sydney icon, and can cross the heads in all but the most severe sea conditions. Their replacement will be small 400 person capacity twin hull ferries that will not run in rough seas.

Out in the COLD WINTER LIGHT with my little MINOX GT 35 loaded with outdated 12/2003 KODAK 'Black and White + 400 ' C41 type film which I downrated to 125 ASA as I know from experience that KODAK film loses lots of Sensitivity when outdated -- I also gave it extra time ( 5Mins) in the C41 Developer.

Loaned a TAMRON SP Adaptall 17mm f3.5 lens by a fellow Camera Club member . I used a NIKON FG that my Wife was given and never uses now so I have 'Taken it over' The Lens has built-in Filters and is 'Rectalinear' . FILM was KODAK T400CN outdated donated by a Camera Club member and I thought it was 'Fresher' than it was -- so 400 ASA gave some 'Thin' negs so on the rest of the cut film I will rate it at 200 ASA . I home-Processed in C41 . I have few more to upload. This is St Thomas of Canterbury Church here in Brentwood with the Yellow Filter

This tree sits at or near the former townsite of Leetown. Apparently during the battle at Pea Ridge, this small town was inundated with wounded and dying soldiers seeking medical care and shelter from the winter. It's hard to imagine that all taking place in what is now a peaceful field with a few grand trees in it.

-.-

First I was kind of annoyed when the guy stepped into the frame when I just pressed the shutter button ...

I took a second shot but in the end I'm happy with the first one ...

Trying a 24 shot cassette of Ilford 'XP2' the earlier version of 'XP2 SUPER' found in the film I was given from my Deceased Great Friend -- he had not stored it well. I downrated it to 250 ASA and on processing the negatives were 'Light Brown' and very low in contrast - I scanned as 'Colour' and on saving some were 'Brownish' but others looked normal B&W. The GRAIN was pronounced. I took these in very poor light and it was dark by 1600hrs - I was getting only 1/60th @ f4.5. I used Minolta AF zoom 28-85mm 3.5-4.5 but as I had 'zoomed it out 'mostly I could not get the 'f3.5' .
