Christiansborg Slot (Christiansborg Palace) is a palace and government building on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the seat of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget)] the Danish Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court of Denmark. Also, several parts of the palace are used by the Danish monarch, including the Royal Reception Rooms, the Palace Chapel and the Royal Stables.

The palace is thus home to the three supreme powers: the executive power, the legislative power, and the judicial power. It is the only building in the world that houses all three of a country's branches of government. The name Christiansborg is thus also frequently used as a metonym for the Danish political system, and colloquially it is often referred to as Rigsborgen ('the castle of the realm') or simply Borgen ('the castle.

The present building, the third with this name, is the last in a series of successive castles and palaces constructed on the same site since the erection of the first castle in 1167. Since the early fifteenth century, the various buildings have served as the base of the central administration; until 1794 as the principal residence of the Danish kings and after 1849 as the seat of parliament.

Prins Jørgens Gård with Christiansborg Palace, the Supreme Court and Thorvaldsens Museum.

Prins Jørgens Gård is a place on Slotsholmen in Copenhagen. The square is located between Christiansborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace Church and Thorvaldsens Museum. From Prins Jørgens Gård there is entrance to the Royal House's representation rooms at Christiansborg, the Prime Minister's Office and the Supreme Court.

Prince Jørgens Gård is named after the Danish Prince Jørgen, who was the brother of Christian 5. In 1670 Christian 5th gave the order to demolish an older house and build a stable building for use by the brother in this place.

In Prins Jørgens Gård are four bronze statues of figures from Greek mythology performed by Bertel Thorvaldsen and Herman Wilhelm Bissen. They represent Jason, Minerva, Æskulap and Nemesis respectively.

The Supreme Court has its main entrance at Prins Jørgens Gård, and here you have reused the entrance from the King's Gate on the second Christiansborg castle, which, however, has now been lifted to a location at the end of the entrance stairs.

The danish parliament Christiansborg shot with my Dji Mavic 2 Pro drone. It was very stormy weahter, the water in the channals was about 1 meters higher than normal and very windy (but the drone managed to take a stable shot).

The drone has a 1" sensor with a 28" equivalent f2.8 lens with variable aperture. The image quality is of cause not as great as aps-c or full frame, but it's at a level where it's usable. I process the raw files in Capture One and that gives significantly better images. Read more on my experiences as a photographer with the Dji Mavic 2 Pro on my blog here.

Christiansborg Castle in central Copenhagen houses the Danish Parliament. The current castle is from 1928 and is built on a ground where there has been fortresses and castles since the 12th century. This is the third castle under the name of Christiansborg. The first was built in 1731-45 by the danish king Christian 6 and burned down in 1797. The second burned down in 1884. We hope the current lives to see its 100th birthday in just a few years.
