Bateleur Eagles usually come down to the water in the middle of the day.

They are a colourful species with a very short tail which, together with its white underwing coverts, makes it unmistakable in flight. The tail is so small the bird's legs protrude slightly beyond the tail during flight.

Size: The average adult Bateleur is 55 to 70 cm long with a 186 cm wingspan. The wing chord averages approximately 51 cm. Adult weight is 2 to 2.6kg. (Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana)

This species provides an example of sex role reversal with the females being more brightly coloured than the males. Females will also choose a male and then defend him against other females and when the chicks have arrived, the female scarpers and the male raises them on his own.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is : Choose one Colour. Isn’t that perfect ?

And we have Mr. Teddy Bear with us, in order to celebrate Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays.

So of course, my chosen color is orange. It is the favorite color of Mr. Teddy Bear. His 2 bests friends are orange after all: Mr. Cosmo the wannabe astronaut and Mr. Moose the book worm. Those 2 know Mr. Teddy bear since kindergarten ! They are like brothers. They have many, many very nice memories together. And they always share an orange (and a glass of orange crush while remembering old good times. For your information, our 3 friends have the same favorite fruit: orange. And it is a very well know fact that oranges and chocolate are the perfect match. No wonder that Mr. Teddy Bear has a very, very positive association with orange.

These impressing monkeys have an amazing mimikry. Its a subspecies of baboons wich live in the "Tierpark Berlin". Only one day with good weather when we were in Berlin for a long weekend - so we choosed to try to make some sunshine photos away from the many tourists in the inner city. This was a good idea.. :-D
