The oldest sections of the "L" started operations in 1892
It has seen millions of people, wars and depressions come and go, and over the decades has developed a personality all it's own.

So many street corners like this downtown, with the "L" thundering overhead and residential and commercial properties jostling for space. Love it!

My view from the DuSable Bridge downtown. Didn't have many decent shots on the Canon because of serious rain and wind that day.

Light swirls! The boat that left these light trails can be seen in center of my last upload. Once we crossed the river, the boat was loaded with tourists and was starting the river tour. 21

I scorned this shot for a long time. I thought it was very overdone. Every Chicago photographer has taken this picture probably at least 10 times. I also couldn't spend the time to keep going back to this spot, always hoping for the right weather leading to a unique shot.
Eventually, I gave in. I like this picture. The reason I think this shot works for me is because it was taken with a wide angle lens, which allowed the lights reflected in the water to stretch further than I have seen before. I had to get down within an inch of the water, and I used the ground as a tripod -- again. I really should take it with me more often. Oh well.
