I often see black capped chickadees in our area, but not nearly as often the chestnut-backed variety. But a few days ago, I was fortunate enough to get some shots of one in an area where I often see black-capped. I guess we can never take our birds for granted!

One advantage of going north to Tennessee is finding the Redbuds still in bloom so I brought home the perch from my prior post and endeavored to put it to use in the Georgia Mountains.

My goal was this species and B1ackburn1an on the perch.

Thankfully it worked out and the early morning light was glorious!
