Found at the Goodwill store. I thought it would make a good addition around the pond. It may look a bit lost as its only 12cm tall

For some interest for this picture I decided to look up the inscription on the cross which reads "Minning pin er ijos i lifi okkar". Google Translate didn't help me much with that and I still don't know what a 'minning' pin is. And so I decided to see if I could find something on the man himself, "Theodor Arni Emanuelsson. Sadly it seemed he only lived 39 years which I thought must have been noteworthy enough to give him at least some mention in the annals of history. And so I googled him and thought I had found something I know some will find interesting: there was a picture of a young man with a fine beard so long that he had plaited it and tucked it down his shirt front, celebrating winning Gold for his Imperial Stout brewed with sheep shit smoked malt icelandmag.is/article/icelandic-micro-brewed-sheep-manure...
As for the pensive cherub......
Backlit, i.e. the light turning the plaster cast into a transparent substance. I am interested here in the tonal range. This was shot as a JPEG with the Mitakon Speedmaster lens at F0.95.
In this photograph, a quiet garden becomes a stage where centuries briefly touch. A figure stands beside an ornate fountain—its cherubic sculptures carved in the language of myth—while raising a smartphone to capture a fleeting self‑portrait. The gesture is unmistakably contemporary, yet it unfolds within a landscape shaped by classical ideals of beauty, symmetry, and permanence.
The work reflects on how we place ourselves within history: how ancient stone and digital screens both serve as mirrors, each preserving a different kind of likeness. Here, the past does not recede; it frames the moment, inviting us to consider what it means to be seen, to record ourselves, and to inhabit spaces built long before the age of pixels.
The result is a portrait not only of a person, but of an era—one in which self‑expression is instantaneous, yet always in conversation with the art and architecture that endure.
