Appreciation Week - Day 1: Light

Let there be light!

the 3-hour blackout the other night made me realize how much I've taken light for granted. You never really know what you love until it's taken away from you.

_____________

Sooo, I'm doing a week-long Appreciation project where I post a photo a day about something I appreciate. Hopefully it'll get me going on taking some new photos as I've been pretty uninspired lately :|

My newest project is gardening. My Grandpa has a huge green thumb so I've wanted to try my hand at it. I've also wanted to spruce up my yard for a while now. Finally I got my Dad to agree to help and we bought some herbs for the back porch and a friend gave us 2 tomato plants for the front. We're starting pretty small but things are going good so far. I'd love to try my hand at planting some blueberries eventually.

While taking these pictures I considered starting a 52 weeks project. I love watching other people take on long term projects but keep putting off trying one myself. I keep thinking up reasons why not to, but I think it would be good for me. I need to continue to push myself. To have deadlines. To think outside the box a little.

I met her at an Instagram meet. She has a beautiful Linus bike that she gave everyone an opportunity to ride and shoot!

Was about to head out for dinner when I noticed the long shadows. Couldn't resist a pic.

11/06/09 – Day 310 of 365

I went back down to the Embarcadero for some more sunrise photos. There wasn't a cloud in the sky so it wasn't as impressive as the day before. I took about 50 photos and I loved the set of shots where I shot into the sun. I discovered some love bokeh in this set of shots!
