The small town at the foot of Mont Blanc. I was there 9 years ago. It was impossible to go anywhere in 2020, so I have found a lot of my old pictures I didn't place on Flickr.

Thank you all or visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!

Sometimes I forget I have some nice pictures from my last short holiday in France, at Chamonix Mont Blanc. A revisit, I have been here in the summer of 82, and the winter of 95.

From the first visit I don't remember much, for instance I remember I camped somewhere in Chamonix, but the town itself...? In 95 I skied here and remember we had an appartment, also somewhere, but couldn't find that building in 2020.

In 2020 the town, despite Covid running around was quite busy, and actually quite cosy, and the surrounding landscape is just stunning everywhere with the views on the glaciers (in this case you can see the Glaciers des Bossons falling into the valley).

One of the destinations this past summer was Chamonix and I think I was right because it is a beautiful city in front of the Alps. Its clean and beautiful streets always full of tourists who had thought the same as me, make it a cheerful and fun city.

Restaurants and bars to choose from any level and always full. Magnificent surroundings full of beautiful typical villages and a few kilometers from Italy and Switzerland.

A highly recommended destination in summer because in winter, surrounded by ski slopes, I think it should still be much fuller. There are no palaces or cathedrals or any remarkable building to photograph. It is the complex and its nearby landscapes that give this city a special charm.

The picture is taken from the balcony of my room that was adorned by beautiful and well-cared geraniums.

It was not easy, the Mont Blanc which is the mountain that is seen in front, when there is no fog, they are clouds or reflections of sunlight and getting the flowers and mountains perfectly focused was an added complication.

I think the best is this but I have other variations edited in the form of paint that have gone very well but I think this is the original.
