Didn't do very well with my focusing or shooting today, tough area for me and the sun ... oh my goodness it was low and bright!
This beautiful Yellow-headed Blackbird flew over to a practice padlock where all the livestock peeps were working out before their showing later in the day! Life bird and near home!

This was last March, and this often taken for granted male Boat-tailed Grackle was on display with his breeding plumage in full force!
But a Flickr friend, Scott, posted a really GREAT photo with a similar pose ... so he inspired me. Yellow-headed Blackbird being a silly bird!

I guess I've need to have some artistic expression of late! Hard week, and this stuff makes me so very, very happy!

How fun! The competitors were exercising the critters out in the side yard where I was watching the Yellow-headed Blackbird!
I know, I know ... too many photos posted, Miss Nancy! Anyway, one more .. and one of my favorites (I know, I know I say that all the time!) ... a young Purple Gallinule walking on Water Lilies. I can't believe I got to see such fun things in this odd area!
