Compositionally Challenged Week 44 - Sunrise-Sunset-Golden Hr-Blue Hr-FAKE it
I stumbled out of bed and shot this out my dirty bedroom window. The sun was rising in the opposite direction but I don't have a good viewpoint for sunrise. The moon was much more impressive anyway. : )
I forgot to change the clock on my camera, this was shot at 6:35am. Sunrise was at 6:33.

Love our Sonoran Desert. So enjoy and celebrate all of the life here. It is called the "green desert" and is the most bio-diverse desert in the world, with over 2,000 plant species and hundreds of types of animals. Grabbed a shot while exploring the Sonoran National Park. while in transit to tour Old Tucson, where over 500 western TV shows and movies were filmed. Tour guide was amazing, would highly recommend.
Delighted to see these lovely little festive flowerscatching the light in my garden after years of waiting - I had given up hope - a bit of life to celebrate!
Our lives are not guaranteed, nor can we count on having our loved ones around forever. If you haven't already been doing so, please remember to celebrate life. Make time for the people you care about, text, call, visit, laugh, share, cry, be present. Also, be sure to appreciate the little things in your own life. Whether it is simply appreciating the taste of your food, sharing a smile or hug, viewing the beauty of a sunrise, notice that there is still goodness that surrounds us.

"It doesn't take much to make an ordinary day special. Add a small garnish to your day by buying a bouquet of fresh cut flowers or light candles for dinner. Pull out those unused champagne flutes and use them as water glasses, and set out the good china even if you're eating leftovers. Turn the phone off. Ignore your e-mails..."
So I lit some candles tonight and pulled own the Brandy... they went really well with my solo meal of Mac and Cheese :)
Oh and SOOC - cause that's how I roll :) Oh and all lighting is by candles and candles alone - I'm pretty proud of that.

Time to get back in the photography saddle again, starting with the monthly trek to the Far South Coast. A whining bladder prompted a stop at Sublime Point, about 70 clicks south of Sydney. It was a sublime day though, calm sea, no wind and clear air. The top of the Illawarra Escarpment was the perfect vantage point to take in the expansive view of the settlements that hug the narrow coastal plain below. I've labelled some of them with floating text boxes, and it's easy to find the scene on Google Earth. There are several uninterrupted views from this lookout, but while walking between them, I was taken by this one, peeking through some clifftop vegetation.
Ah, Fall is here! The sun is shining and the weather is that perfect, crisp cool, just right for Joe Cool. An exceptionally happy time of year.
At the intersection of Happy and Cool, there is a fantastic alleyway lined from start to finish with vendor booths of a dazzling variety. Snoopy can smell the scrumptious medley of dishes being grilled, baked and fried. His eyes are already darting from selections of colorful tees to fascinating toys to innovative fashion accessories.
Should he start with a caramel apple? Of course! It is fall, after all. Might Joe Cool find find a frosty root beer in a glass bottle? It's really the only way to drink root beer. Will he look at the latest minifigs from the hit manga, 'Beagle Kingdom'? Absolutely! He is a true fan. Perhaps a new pair of hip shades. And, to scratch a certain collector's itch, a new ballcap. Preferably one with an airplane theme. And... quite important... some hot, drippy, pepperoni by the slice!
Fall is here. It's happy times!

Flambro is another of our favorite brands for the Peanuts license. We had an account with them when we had our collectibles store and Flambro never failed to delight with their colorful and innovative designs.
This series, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Snoopy (Which occured in 2000), features six figurines, each of them incredibly cute, such as Joe Cool Strolling Snoopy here.
Snoopy is no stranger to shopping!

This amazing London Plane Tree is situated on the edge of the lake in my local park. Every time I pass by I delight in its sheer size. Its twisted branches stretching out over the water and the magnificent exposed roots that anchor it to the ground.
It's wonderful in all seasons but especially in Autumn as the leaves turn from green to yellow and reflect their splendour on the surface of the water.

I was in Balboa Park a while a ago and heard this mariachi player playing traditional Mexican songs... he sounded great. You could tell he was happy to be outside playing his guitar for everyone. His music added a friendly sound to air and I noticed that everytime someone dropped money in his guitar case, he managed to work in the vocals "Thank youuuuu verrrry much". - After I dropped some money into his case, he was more than pleased to pose for this picture"

Leaves may fall with the season but the tree lives to make more leaves, flowers, and fruit in a later season. The cycle of life continues...
I purchased these bulbs a few days ago. I’ll put them in the ground tomorrow. By later winter, early spring they will be celebrating life for all of us. When these show mother nature is showing life after a long dormant winter for many things.
Photography is what you make it into. I often think about it, as such; that if I need the 'proper' equipment for great photos then. I wouldn't take even half as many as I do. There's nothing wrong with chasing a vision. But there's more to life than just photography. As we all know, rarely have time to go out just for me time with a single-lens reflex camera these days.
But do manage these on the train in the often time.
One can look upon this photo and think how annoying there's a phone reflection on it, and that it probably would be better if it wasn't there. I do too. But, on the other hand, I wouldn't have this picture now, if I couldn't look beyond it. To me photography is a way to celebrate life, to view and express experiences through photography. It's art, in all forms. So what's a phone reflection compared to this. Lol.
I stood at this point hoping that the deer on the right bank would startle the heron into flight. But instead they decided to cross the river. And the heron was so unbothered it didn't flinch.
These deer looked happy leaping across the river - a moment that felt like a celebration of life.
