... my 14th Flickrversary with all of you!
14 years ago today I joined Flickrworld and I couldn't imagine the great impact of this at all.
And I'm still here ;-))
Looking at all your fantastic pictures from all over the world,
meeting wonderful friends and excellent photographers,
being encouraged by all your faves, comments and awards
still means an enormous boost for my photographic skills and ambitions
and a wonderful enrichment for my life.
Thanks for all that and the 35 mio views of my photostream .....
expecting another great Flickr year together with you !!!
Cheers, Achim

I will be off and on Flickr for the next couple days while we celebrate my Mom's Birthday. 90 years young!
My co-workers knew how much I enjoyed photography and they signed me up for a photography course at our local art center as a Christmas gift. My husband had just given me my Canon T3i and I had just started posting on Flickr. We had weekly assignments and this was my picture for our portrait assignment.
Lots of family are coming into town to help celebrate this special lady in our lives.
Thank you friends for your lovely wishes to my Mom! She had a wonderful celebration and we all enjoyed lots of family time!
Continuing on with my positive flags of the project of the nation.

I inherited this butterfly/dragonfly pin from my mom. I wear it on my winter coat lapel (sometimes my hat). I found it again this week as I was digging out my winter woolies. Mom's been gone three years now...hard to believe
Explore #5... thanks everyone!

Although there is little to celebrate about suffering from M.E. I do appreciate that here on Flickr we recognise and pause to remember all the millions world-wide who are fighting, adjusting and learning to live with this baffling condition. Like Maria I am a long-term sufferer. It devastates and demands a total reshaping of your life.
I had hopes that "Long Covid" might trigger some serious research and progress and understanding of what goes wrong when a virus digs in so deep that it alters the human body in many destructive ways. But so far it seems that Covid has just added millions more to the ranks of M.E. sufferers.
