Today was such a nice day here in Michigan, and finally a bit warm. It made me long for the warmer days when I could open my windows and use my ceiling fan to create a nice cool breeze through my house. We are getting closer, but we are not there yet.
Energy saving has become a part of my life. I was very surprised by this sign which is counter to the "turn it off" mentality I've developed. Guess fresh air does have its advantages though.

Oh, the wrath of Mother Nature! A brief, but powerful, storm left much of Chicagoland in the dark. My home was without electric power from 3:30PM Thursday to 9:25PM Sunday. Tonight is the first chance I've had to catch up on email and Flickring and wow, what a relief! I'm so grateful. A neighboring town, Wilmette, apparently still has 6,000 residents still in the dark : (
Tomorrow, the garbage pick up begins. I may wander around and take pictures of what I'm sure will be massive piles of spoiled refrigerator refuse next to the piles of branches and tree trunks that have been curbside for days.
