âLa Catrinaâ no proviene de los mexicanos. Es una sĂĄtira creada por el caricaturista JosĂ© Guadalupe Posada que en tiempos del juarismo y el porfiriato se burlaba de los mestizos e indĂgenas que iban subiendo de nivel econĂłmico y pretendĂa ser europeos y renegaban de su propia raza, herencia y cultura. Se les llamaba los âgarbancerosâ, precisamente por dedicarse al cultivo y venta de garbanzos.
Entonces JosĂ© Guadalupe Posada, creĂł âLa Calavera Garbanceraâ para expresar que los garbanceros andaban «...en los huesos, pero con sombrero francĂ©s con sus plumas de avestruz».
Diego Rivera la nombrĂł âLa Catrinaâ, de la palabra âcatrĂnâ, que definĂa (a veces de forma despectiva) a la clase social alta, y la eternizĂł en su mural âSueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Centralâ, (la calavera con su estola de plumas aparece junto a JosĂ© Guadalupe Posada, Diego Rivera como niño y Frida Kahlo).
Encuentro realizado en los jardines del Centro Cultural Villa Victoria Ocampo por la comunidad mexicana .

La Catrina ist eine Figur, die im vergangenen Jahrhundert zum Symbol vom Tag der Toten (âDĂa de los Muertosâ) in Mexiko geworden ist. Dieser wird vom 31. Oktober, wĂ€hrend bei uns Halloween gefeiert wird, bis zum 2. November als groĂes fröhliches Volksfest zelebriert, um den Toten zu gedenken.

Todays Project. I did a version of my Catrina face paint for LAQ Era2 UHD head. First time working with LAQ UV map, it had me pulling out my hair a bit. But I think in the end it turned out OK.' Also have versions for EvoX and Genus Regular
