BCOL 4614 and CN 2114 lead their respective deadlines of CN GE C40-8 variants at Southern Yard in Welland Ontario.
All of these units have since been moved onto the old Martech property for K&K to chop up.
That's it I've had enough - I'm off. Also I don't want to get wet today...
That's it from Lumphini Park for now but I may well return as I visit here fairly often. If you would like to read more please see my blog entry at worthingwanderer.blogspot.com/2018/11/lumphini-park.html
After tropical storm. After hurricane Ian these cottages were probably wiped out totally under water.

Waves had collected empty shells from below the intertidal and tossed them up on Surf Beach, Cape Cod.
The scallop shell is the most easily recognized. Underwater, when starfish threaten, they can move off the bottom by opening their shells and then slamming them shut, propelling themselves awkwardly but effectively. The edges of their gills have tiny, brilliant blue eyes.
Slipper limpets were piled where waves converged--they could be 6 inches deep. The preferentially settle on other limpets, making small towers of up to a dozen limpets.
The whorled snail is alive, a common Nassa. A few barnacles have attached to the scallop.

Several of the former Amtrak Pacific Surfliner F59PHIs have retired from the sunny beaches of the Pacific Ocean to finish their lives pulling commuter trains in and out of the Chicago suburbs for Metra. Since moving east, they've primarily found work on the Milwaukee lines west and north out of Union Station. Here, Metra 77 rolls under the old Panhandle signal bridge for CP-Morgan at Racine Avenue. Based on timing this was probably train 2131 to Fox Lake, but it's hard to track at a place where there's literally a train every two minutes during parts of rush hour!
“If your life is a leaf
That the seasons
Tear off and condemn …”
Leonard Cohen, Sisters of Mercy
For the Smile on Saturdays Tree Bark theme. Mostly “barkeh”, with the bark in a supporting role to the leaf, but at least the key diagonal is sharp, and bark dominates the frame. Susan, Noel, and I were looking for wildlife and wildflowers, but October is always rich in possibilities beyond expectations.
Comments on genre welcome.
Considered composing a haiku, but Leonard Cohen already made the perfect song in a different meter.
Happy Smile on Saturday!

Icebergs cast upon the shore in East Iceland where the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon empties into the North Atlantic.
The small island of Hrollaugseyjar can be seen just to the left of that big lump of ice.
More archival work from 2015 - there was little to no ice on the beach in 2017 due to a big berg-jam on the upstream of the bridge. I posted a slightly different version of this scene a couple of years ago but was never happy with it.

It has been said that the happiest day for a boat owner is when he gets a new boat. Even happier days are after he gets rid of said boat.
I sat on these rocks a few days ago and despite the evening being quite beautiful I just couldn't find a way to improve on any previous capture and ended up trashing most of the images except for one which I posted on my 'Thai Diary' stream.
Whether I was lacking enthusiasm or simply became too absorbed with the same old composition I'm not exactly sure but it felt as if I hadn't made any advancement in photography over the past 2 years.. ouch!
So, here's one I haven't shared before from a previous visit, a time when I didn't worry about the image and just enjoyed the moment!
Thank you for passing by :)
