Today the view has become restricted, due to the trees growing up. In 2011 (as above) you could see for miles.

An early morning view of Burgh Island with the rising sun directly behind my left shoulder. Get here early or be prepared to pay some serious money for car parking.

A fort built in 1685 by Vauban. It was rediscovered a little time ago during works for an underground car parking. You will find more details (in French) and plans in the following link: darkplaces.org/Luxemburg/Festungsstadt_Luxemburg/Fort_Lam...

"L'Onde" is an artistic creation by Jean-Bernard Métais. "It extends and transforms our vision of the historic fortress, situated below the present ground level", says the artist.

I thought these 2 towers were very interesting with their cylinder-shape and specially the open air levels of parking.

St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall, United Kingdom. The island is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite rocks set into a causeway or path that is passable only between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650.

St Michael's Mount is often seen as a Cornish counterpart of Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France (with which it shares the same tidal island characteristics and the same conical shape, though it is much smaller at 57 vs 247 acres)

St Michael's Mount is one of 43 unbridged tidal islands that one can walk to from mainland Britain. Part of the island was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1995 for its geology.

Last Saturday I took both of my boys on a day out in winter wonderland. My initial idea has been to drive up to Hay Tor as it is quite accessible - although we were pretty early half of Devon seemed to have had the same idea so we did not find a car parking space. At least we were there way before the real traffic chaos started (people simply abandoning their cars in the middle of the road). So a bit frustrated but determined to spend some quality time in the snow we continued towards Mortonhampstead and then decided to drive up to Belstone. On our way through Dartmoor we saw lots of wonderful snow-covered areas. To my dismay the car park in Belstone was also full already but we managed to find a reasonably safe spot a bit further away. Finally we could enjoy this glorious winter day and the boys had lots of fun building a snow man and throwing snow balls. I took a few photos at the outskirts of Belstone with that herd of sheep waiting for the snow to melt...

The Port of Liverpool building, reflected in the new black glass and polished black granite 'Longitude' building on Mann Island.

Wikipedia.

The three buildings are to the south of the Mann Island roadway, opposite the Port of Liverpool Building, and are numbered (from east to west) No.1, No.11 and No.15 Mann Island.

No.15, next to the Museum of Liverpool, is called the Latitude building and No.11 is the Longitude building. Connecting the two is a double-height glass atrium called Equator House which often hosts RIBA architectural displays and launch events for the Open Eye Gallery next-door. Both Latitude and Longitude are mixed commercial and residential spaces, with restaurants, cafés and galleries on the ground floor, and accommodation starting on the 2nd floor. There is a gap in the 1st floor, that was originally meant to be a mezzanine for the commercial spaces below, but this has now been adapted as private open plan office and co-working space. No.1 Mann Island, next to the Strand, is occupied almost entirely by the offices of the Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Merseytravel and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. Two levels of car-parking extend beneath the Latitude and Longitude buildings, which is shared between residents and Merseytravel and Combined Authority staff.

Mann Island is home to the RIBA North gallery, opened in 2017.

After finishing my livestock check at Ham Fen, I retreated to my car in the car parking area. Watching the feeder station, I was surprised to see two Chiffchaff arrive at the station and proceed to have a fight. It was bedlam for a while, untill the winner surprisingly ending up sitting on the barbed wire fence about 10mtrs (15ft) away from Me.
