Americans had saved quite a bit of money during World War II, and after this war, the American public was ready to buy new cars.
By the end of the war, the average age of cars on the road was 10 years and were literally held together with ball wire and a prayer.
Chrysler Corporation was able to restore automobile production as a result and production was increased year after year.
The very beautiful Chrysler Winsor model was the bestseller of the automaker's post-war style and had a beautiful look of the grandeur of the era...

Nürburgring. BMW M5 Ringtaxi. It came by really fast and it was drifting trough the corners. Amazing to see.

The story behind the image:
Every May the charming city Balatonfüred hosts the Concours d'Elegance car show with 50 selected, wonderfully restored and extremely rare oldtimer cars from Central Europe. A must to visit for all car fans!
This image was taken in the lakeside promenade around noon with a clear sky . Used a Canon Speedlite 430 EX II flashlight with a diffuser, intentionally overexposed to highlight the beauty of this old dama from the golden age of the US car manufacturers.
