Oh, alright. Not really. But try using a little imagination, and it could be.

…… We had a 50 mile ride out today to visit a new to us N/Trust property - well worth the trip, we are so lucky to have these wonderful places to peep into lives past, imagine life back in the day and relive some snapshots in time. Spoilt for choice for my #243 shot of the day but I knew when I took the winner that it would be the one! Thanks to N/T & volunteers for a great day out. Alan:-)

Lots of them. Their structural "logic" can be described mathematically. Underneath this logic, however, is a fundamental assumption. That there is a future. That some seeds will be "found" and "finding" good soil and water and so on. The theory of evolution tells us that, today, we are only meeting those life forms that had this in-built logic to them and, therefore, were able to survive. Other life forms went extinct. We know now that most life forms, humans included, will be around for a limited period of time only. They will be replaced or out-competed by other species. But life itself seems to go on as long as our planet offers the necessary conditions. What is it that makes life "wish" to continue, to spread and proliferate? And since life starts with matter, does matter have an in-built drive towards self-organisation, that is, towards life and, ultimately, to forms of self-consciousness? We have sent time capsules into space speculating that aeons from now another civilisation will read Voyager's message and know that, a very long time ago, there was something like humanity and on a planet that may no longer exist. In fact, however, time capsules are everywhere around us. Here on this planet. Fuji X-Pro1 plus Samyang telephoto mirror lens.

Classic power, an old depot, an ACL painted caboose, and old an old codeline pole make this scene a railroad time capsule. FCEN GP18 #59 and GP9 #60 are seen here switching cars in Dunnellon, before calling it day.

It's hard to believe this used to be a busy mainline in the ACL and SCL days. Nowadays, the train only passes through once or twice each week, if you're lucky.

Nakagin-capsule tower building, Ginza, Tokyo.

The unique building was now deconstructing due to deterioration. The building was a mixed-use residential and office tower designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa in early 1970 as a symbol of Japanese metabolism.
