This is the concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavik. It was opened in 2011.

I've read a few different stories about its design, but I like the one that says it is meant to look like the scales of a fish. In this shot it looks like some of the lights are out in the windows, it is actulaly just the angle the light has been caught at, just like the scales of a fish.

I just came back from Iceland, so let's start with a classic pic. This church was built between 1945 and 1986 and has a 73m-high tower

The storm passed by just as the sun began to set and a rainbow appeared over an old barn. There was just enough time to pull out my camera and capture this image before it was all over. Truly one of those moments that makes you say wow. (Poestenkill, NY)

We had an amazing time in Iceland for almost two weeks, exploring what this beautiful country has to offer. Aside from scenic and stunning waterfalls, volcanoes, canyons, geyers, hot springs, etc., we saw many birds, animals, and other wildwife.

In the Continental US, it generally requires a pelagic boat ride out to the open ocean to have a shot at the Northern Fulmars. In Iceland, however, they can be seen right on land near the shoreline. What a treat!

Hallgrimskirkja is the largest church in the Icelan, and towers over the centre of Reykjavik. Its 73-metre-high tower provides a wonderful 360° view over all Reykjavik, the mountains around and the ocean streaching west to Greenland and the Americas.

The church’s stepped concrete facade is an ode to modernism and a reminder of the Icelandic landscape. The church is named after the 17th-century clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson, author of Hymns of the Passion.

Hallgrímskirkja is an Evangelical-Lutheran church and is a part of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Iceland. It is one of the most visited places by tourists in Iceland - every day thousands of people visit the church.
