The Purple Heron is identified by its long bill and neck, narrow body and wings, orange red head and neck, black plumed cap and chestnut belly. It is more often seen in flight than on land, flying to and from night roosts or breeding sites and feeding areas. In flight, it appears to be a dark, medium sized heron, with its long feet extending considerably beyond the short tail, and the long neck drooping below the horizontal
This impressive bridge and waterfall of Palaiokarya, is in the heart of the gorge next to the Palaiokarya village in Trikala Greece
The view of the stone arch bridge, with the impressive waterfall behind,is breathtaking.

This historic abandoned schoolhouse sits atop the hill, offering a breathtaking view in the background.
This picture was taken in Frederiksberg Have in Copenhagen, Denmark. I saw a few grey herons sitting in a row near the water, and they usually do that on cold evenings. I wanted to have only one grey heron in focus to radiate a specific meaning.

The Cyprus Warbler is more easily seen in the spring, when males set up their territories, by singing on top of bushes. Its song is a dry and rugged warble. It has distinctive black spots on the throat and chest. It is difficult to see, as it is small in size and likes dense vegetation. It nests in Cyprus and nowhere else in the world (it is endemic to Cyprus). Some Cyprus Warblers spend the winter in the Middle East.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. I went back to one of my favorite schoolhouses after finishing my Thanksgiving dinner. There were some rumors that the owner planned to demolish it, which started about three years ago. Some said it was just a hoax. I’m glad it’s still standing.
The schoolhouse is located in Polk County.

The Bluethroat is similar in size to the European robin at 13–14 cm. It is plain brown above except for the distinctive black tail with red side patches. It has a strong white supercilium. The male has an iridescent blue bib edged below with successive black, white and rust coloured borders. Some subspecies, such as L. svecica svecica (red-spotted bluethroat) of northern Eurasia, have a red spot in the centre of the blue bib.
Others, such as L. svecica cyanecula (white-spotted bluethroat) of southern and central Europe, have a white spot in the centre of the blue bib. L. svecica magna in Turkey has no central spot.
Females of all subspecies usually have just a blackish crescent on an otherwise cream throat and breast. Newly fledged juveniles are freckled and spotted dark brown above.
Despite the distinctive appearance of the males, recent genetic studies show only limited variation between the forms, and confirm that this is a single species.
Moults begins in July after breeding and is completed in 40–45 days, before the birds migrate.
I’ve visited this location twice, the first time being in April 2021. The condition of the property hasn’t changed much, though I did notice the roof has gotten a bit worse.

I love this beautiful abandoned house located in central Kansas. I'm not sure if it's still standing, but maybe I should visit it again sometime soon.

The chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) is a species of goat-antelope native to mountains in Europe, from west to east, including the Cantabrian mountains, the Pyrenees, the Alps and the Apennines, the Dinarides, the Tatra and the Carpathian Mountains, the Balkan Mountains, the Rila - Rhodope massif, Pindus, the northeastern mountains of Turkey, and the Caucasus.

I take this picture last night all by my self using a flash 600exrt as
sleeve on extra tripod and holding a trigger on hand. This help me to light the foreground. I set the camera on 10sec delay and I step on the abandoned machine to point Milky Way. Light pollution in this location was very high and that's the reason of to much red an orange coloring of the picture. I hope you like it.
