I FINALLY hosted a photo walk in the park, by my house...I couldn't believe that 30 brave souls came out in the dark on a below freezing, frosty, foggy morning...but when the sun finally broke through the fog, it was so worth it.....it became Magical!

This is the "cookie man"....he loves dogs and always has a pocket full of doggie-treats with him. After we chatted and my dog got her reward, we headed off in different directions. But my dog wouldn't walk, sat doen and kept looking back at him. I turned around to watch him heading off into the amazing light. It was almost like my dog was willing me to turn around and look...it was my reward..

Up the stairs to enter the Hermitage in St Petersburg Russia. My head is still spinning at the beauty and opulence of this museum...it's collections were pretty amazing too! They say that if you spent only 30 seconds looking at every item on display, you would be there for over 8 years!

I seriously considered photographing a bowl of nuts, because that's what I think I am right now for attempting a third 365 challenge.
Instead I went with this....there is so much snow here in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver BC). It is well below 0c, but we decided to go for a quick drive to go find barns in the snow to photograph....this was my favourite barn, but I wasn't happy with my photo....the snow plough driver was yelling at us to move so it was just a quick shot....I enhanced this with Impresso.

My third day of being sick and pretty much housebound! So the easiest thing to do was play with the Christmas decorations in front of the Christmas tree.

The Amaryllis is a plant species native to Cape Province in South Africa but widely cultivated as a very popular ornamental. It is reportedly naturalized in many places. Amaryllis flowers are a sure sign that the holiday season is in full swing. The Red Lion amaryllis (pictured here) rewards with four to eight weeks of growth with stunning, big, red blossoms atop a tall, slender stalk. It also makes a good houseplant and can be grown as an annual.

The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome’s Bleriot XI was donated to Cole Palen in 1952 by Bill Champlin of Laconia, NH, Mr. Champlin obtained it from Professor H.H. Coburn, who as a boy had observed the aeroplane in a junkyard while bicycling to and from work each day. Coburn finally procured it and kept it stored for many years. It appears that the Bleriot had crashed at an air meet in Sauguss, MA in 1910, and when received by Cole it was approximately 25% complete. New wings, stabilizer and elevators were built. The front third and rear third of the fuselage are original and it is powered by a 35 HP Anzani “Y” type engine. The maximum altitude that this Bleriot has flown at the Aerodrome is approximately 60’. It is the oldest flying aircraft in the United States, and the second oldest flying aircraft in the world.

It has been grey, cloudy and/or rainy for about a week.....I was walking the dog about half an hour before sunset and the clouds started dispersing..it was like someone pulled up the shades and turned on the light! While it has been raining here...it's been snowing on the mountains....this was so amazing...I just wish i'd known it was going to happen...it would have been a tripod instead of the dog! Looking from Royal Oakland Park towards Burnaby/Lougheed.
