We were covered in cloud and rain up here today and was about to leave when all of a sudden the cloud broke to reveal the wonderful view at the top of Langkawi island in Malaysia.

I finally got out walking last weekend on a glorious blue sky day, although it couldn't be faulted for walking weather it didn't make for the best photos so here is another archive image from a magical day i've been dipping into quite a bit. Taken on the way down from Helvellyn in December 2016.
The largest glacier in the Alps.
The two medial moraines of the Aletsch Glacier exist, because the glacier consists of three individual glaciers that converge at Konkordiaplatz.
Another rake deep into the archives, this time for a simple little scene taken from my front garden for the week on Skye. Again as with some of my other archival excavations I really don't know why this has sat there so long. I haven't enhanced the colours for the rainbow at all, it really was this vivid.
Another from the day out on Helvellyn, taken as the sun dropped below the ridge line of the Central Fells and shone through the mist in the valley and trees of the Swirls plantation. Cropped from the original in an attempt to simplify and distil the image.

Unfortunately last year was not a lucky one for Alpine glaciers.

Some images you can't quite sort out how you feel about them, this is one such image. I've had a few attempts at processing it and have been close to posting it on several occasions only to decide against it for some reason. Perhaps it's the large area of negative space through the center of the image that is causing me a problem, but then again I quite like the questions it poses. Anyway, feel free to pass on your thoughts and enjoy your weekend everybody.
