When you think of the millions of dollars that are now spent on political campaigns, it's hard to imagine this small building was Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign headquarters.
Heimdal Glacier in southern Greenland, in an image captured on Oct. 13, 2015, from NASA Langley Research Center's Falcon 20 aircraft flying 33,000 feet above mean sea level.
NASA’s Operation IceBridge, an airborne survey of polar ice, recently finalized two overlapping campaigns at both of Earth’s poles. Down south, the mission observed a big drop in the height of two glaciers situated in the Antarctic Peninsula, while in the north it collected much needed measurements of the status of land and sea ice at the end of the Arctic summer melt season.
This was the first time in its seven years of operations that IceBridge carried out parallel flights in the Arctic and Antarctic. Every year, the mission flies to the Arctic in the spring and to Antarctica in the fall to keep collect an uninterrupted record of yearly changes in the height of polar ice.

President Biden made news this week for campaign stops in Scranton, Pennsylvania. What the Fake News Media failed to report, however, was that another 2024 candidate, Steve Carlson, was campaigning in the Scranton area at the same time. Military helicopters seen over I-81 ensured that no unwanted clouds entered the airspace over the NRFF. And don't let this photo fool you: Carlson drew crowds larger than the ones Former President Donald Trump claims to draw. Seen here is a special, invite-only gathering of some of Carlson's biggest supporters.

60028 has just emerged from the Wimbledon station 'tunnel', and is being persued by a SWR class 455 formed suburban train, with the DCR sponsored 'Capital Campaigner' special 1Z50 0554 Derby to Chessington South. 60055 was on the rear well out of sight.
I will be gone for a few days…off to visit my brother. In the meantime, please watch the worldwide fundraiser video from this incredible organization, Stand Up To Cancer. It is captivating and well worth the time for all of us.

Environmental campaigners from across Dorset to protest about the continued extraction of oil in Poole Harbour by Perenco. Daniel Glennon from Extinction Rebellion Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (XR BCP), said that “local groups from Wimborne (XRW), Purbeck (XRP), and Dorchester, Weymouth and Portland (XR DWP), supported the event, demonstrating against the continued high-risk pumping of oil in the harbour.”

Near Wakool, NSW, We are nearing the end of a national election campaign in Australia. This is but one of the myriad of signs appearing around Australia at the moment but I love the originality of the background even if the sign itself is not particularly original. The hot issue in this electorate (where I am not voting) is water and many farmers will be supporting Kevin Mack.
Photographic Society of Madras, a 150+ years old photo club in Chennai, organised a photowalk on a Car Free Sunday at BesantNagar, Chennai. There many life saving and health awareness campaigns were going on and the above image captured while the public were taught the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation technique. Even the slum children showed keen interest. More than understanding the technique the message would reach the base level people.
