Found this guy hiding in the pond at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance Headquarters in Vincentown, New Jersey. I suppose he thought he was well hidden by the duckweed all around him.

These frogs have the most beautiful jewel-like eyes.

I think this guy wanted his picture taken. He sat calmly while I was shooting and never moved at all.

This is a very fine example of camouflage. I cannot believe how well this female cardinal blends in to her surroundings. Taken at the NC Arboretum, Asheville.
