Bajaba el Duero callado
observando cómo los árboles
se miraban pretenciosos
en sus aguas cristalinas.
Y el Duero sin inmutarse,
silencioso, su camino seguía
buscando siempre avanzar,
aportando su valía.

Quien quiere, mira y descubre
el valor de lo que encierra,
lo saborea y venera
libre de lucimientos,
que los colores son de otros.
El camina en silencio
dando vida a quien admira
la virtud que da el silencio,
profunda como es el cauce
del Duero en su pasar.
La calle de Balborraz es una de las calles más antiguas de Zamora. Se encuentra ubicada en el casco histórico de la ciudad y tiene su inicio en la Plaza Mayor. La calle se denomina Balborraz del árabe "bab al ras" que se traduce como "puerta de la cabeza". Esta denominación proviene de la época del siglo X en el que se produjo la batalla denominada día de Zamora. Existía una puerta del mismo nombre que la calle, abierta sobre la murallas y que fue demolida en el año 1555 por amenazar ruina. La calle reúne una estampa puramente tradicional y artesana. Por su trazado han procesionado algunas de las comitivas más importantes de la Semana Santa. Vía de acceso al centro económico-administrativo de la ciudad desde el otro lado del río.
La calle supone una bajada en cuesta desde la Plaza hasta el Duero. Enlaza desde la Plaza Mayor, adyacente al Ayuntamiento Viejo la calle baja en cuesta pronunciada hasta enlazar, sin solución de continuidad, hasta la calle de la Plata. De recorrido quebrado y anchura variable. Es desde el siglo X una calle de artesanos que enlazaba la judería vieja con el casco antiguo de Zamora. Los artesanos más típicos: caldereros, carpilleros, alfamareros, herreros, laneros, lateros. La Puerta de Balborraz estuvo desde el siglo X en la calle que dio su nombre y en su dintel existía la cabeza esculpida de Ahmed-ben-Moavia (Posiblemente origen etimológico del nombre de la puerta). Existe en un lado de calle una placa conmemorativa al centenario del imaginero coresano Ramón Álvarez Prieto (La lápida pone Ramón "Álvarez Moretón" por error).en honor al taller que tuvo allí este coresano. Otro ilustre vecino de la calle (en el nº 16) vivió Manuel Boizas López escritor y erudito de la ciudad. Antaño vivió Men Rodríguez de Sanabria mayordomo real de Pedro I. En el número 54 estuvo un palacio denominado de las golondrinas.
Algunas de las ferias importantes de la ciudad como la anual de san Pedro se han celebrado en la calle, mercado de trillos. La mayoría de las casas actuales son de finales del siglo XIX, comienzos del XX. La aparición de nuevos medios de locomoción, incompatibles con la fuerte pendiente de la calle desplazó su protagonismo comercial. La rehabilitación realizada en la calle a mediados de los años noventa fue premiada por Europa Nostra en el año 1997. Mantiene parte de su calzada de cantos rodados.(Wikipedia)

Lesser kudu are forest antelopes found in East Africa. The females and juveniles have a reddish-brown coat, while the males become yellowish grey or darker after the age of 2 years. Males have a prominent black crest of hair on the neck. One long white stripe runs along the back, with 11-14 white stripes branching towards the sides. A black stripe runs from each eye to the nose and a white one from each eye to the center of the dark face. There is also a chevron between the eyes. The area around the lips is white, the throat has white patches, and two white spots appear on each side of the lower jaw. The underparts are completely white, while the slender legs are tawny and have black and white patches. Horns are present only on males and are dark brown and tipped with white in color

Three Mile Island
This plant will close soon. I remember visiting it when it had a partial meltdown years ago. To say it's eerie, out in the night - is a bit of an understatement. You can hear the machinery softly whirring.
Hello my amazing friends !
Today Major Tom is waiting for a very, very important call. He is about to reconnect with his past and some very good childhood friends. He doesn’t want to miss this call so that is why he has his phone near while doing his astronaut’s stuff on the moon. There is also a very red and large phone booth, just few steps away… Of course, he has to use the old ladder to get to it, but even with his astronaut suit he is very, very fast. He completed the astronauts training after all, and there was a special section « ladder climbing for dummies and astronauts » so I’m sure he will be able to answer the phone in time !
