Travelled home for the holidays.. had to drive for 18 hrs.. the last 6 hrs under stormy weather.. passed landslides.. got lost in a detour.. all worth it to see my family after almost 2 years 😊

At home and having a much needed break from the City. This was snapped from our backyard representing a typical life in the province - rice paddies and water buffalos to help with the planting. This view gets better during the harvest season when the fields turn into gold.

These ceremonies must be a real ordeal for such young children. This one lasted well over two hours with the children only receiving their awards right at the end. The rest of the time was taken up with political speeches (it was election time) and a few presentations (singing and dancing) by some of the children. See the set (and below) for more pictures from just one ceremony I attended in March 2007.
