We came across this cub and his mother while driving down a logging road early one morning. As we turned the corner his mother retreated into the nearby foliage but this little guy was full of curiosity. He hopped up a nearby tree but ascended only a few feet before stopping to get a better look at us. I took only a few short bursts out of the car window (20fps can be very helpful for managing a sharp shot in these situations) and then we moved along to avoid causing Momma Bear concern. The road was full of wildlife that morning and we also saw three groups of deer within a span of only a few kilometres.

There are two families each with two cubs, one set a little older than the other.. All well grown now. But this was one of the slightly older cubs back in mid June.

When we saw Siligi in November she had all seven cubs and she was being monitored by the Cheetah wardens in a secure area, so we were very lucky to have her come quite close to us but only briefly.
There was always 1 cub that seemed to prefer mum's company rather than playing with its siblings and it decided to take a closer look at us form this rock. The little one didn't stay long as mum came and coaxed it further back.
I'm aware from recent posts of her only having two surviving, but I have also seen a post saying she has just one. How true that is I cannot say for sure.

Their curiousity and funny behaviour always make me smile...This guy and its sibling allowed us to watch them for a long time while their very relaxed mother was feeding nearby. Southern BC, Canada
Aside from Wild Dogs, the one species I was most hoping to see was the Leopard. In the end, we actually saw seven different animals - I would have been over the moon with just one!

A grizzly cub emerging from the weeds. This is a spring cub or cub of the year, who was born this year.
This yearling grizzly bear cub was eating dandelions in a meadow with its' Mom, in the pouring rain. The cub would sit down and wait...this time looked up from scratching an itch on the chin.

This cheetah gave birth to four cubs. After four weeks only two have survived and this cub with the typical silvery strip of fur down its back seems to be more curious and aggressive than the other surviving cub.
This yearling Grizzly Bear cub was eating dandelions in a meadow while it was raining. The cub suddenly got the zoomies and starting running in circles around its mother. There were a couple of utility poles nearby and it raced up the pole.

Silvertip bear is a alternative name for the North American grizzly bear. Here a silver-tipped (grizzled) grizzly cub stands on a fallen log in the fall, Chilko River, BC. The grizzly bear's formal Latin name, Ursus arctos horribilis, came from confusion between grizzly and grisly, or "horrible." Grizzly bears come in a variety of colours from blond to black and often have brown fur tipped in white or gray. The adjective grizzly probably arose from these "grizzled" or gray-colored hairs, and this cub is a great example of this colouration.

You most first make sure you have the right hiding place and control odors . He uses his sight and hearing hunt !
NS U87’s tail end takes the siding at Lincoln, to head north in the Cub Creek Branch. Due to the lack of run arounds in the coalfields, yards like Elmore often utilize cabooses as shove platforms. What was once a common sight on almost every train is now a sight to behold here in coal country.
A wet grizzly cub rears up on its hind legs to look for danger. It was feeding with its mother in a sedge grass meadow in the springtime in the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, BC.
