At the time, owned by Pete Waterman, Class 46, No 46035 'Ixion' approaches Seaforth Container Terminal on 4P69 Garston FLT to Seaforth CT liner. Along with other liners it hauled that day to/from Seaforth. the Class 46 was hired by Freightliner due to unavailabilty of locomotives at Crewe Basford Hall due to a derailment at the entrance to the yard. No 46035 (and a 'Deltic' 55015?) were the only loco's available. Historically, that day was the last recorded appearance of a 'Peak' on a freightliner train. Before it is mentioned, an attempt was made to change the headscode but proved to be a little difficult. 25th May 1999. (D.5557).

CT Plus 1229 (YX66WGC) on route 20 to Debden Broadway at Walthamstow Central Station on 30/03/2019
It took a week but a single decker on route 20 finally happened under CT Plus' tenure of the route.
Facing a double decker shortage due to railway replacement services, 1229 ran on route 20 with makeshift displays and is seen here loading up passengers en route to Debden.
First try at building my own frame but in fact with the help of 4 friends at various junctures. Could not find the frame stock I wanted so I bought a 10 foot board of cherry and one friend very kindly milled it for me another helped me build a fence for the chop saw to get more accurate cuts another provided a framing clamp This frame will be a reject because of the gap in bottom left corner. I chose to make these frames in cherry because I liked the look better than the more common black frame that I think can be overpowering or distracting from my images. So much for frames being easy to make when you are not really set up for it. I have to go and buy a better finer tooth blade for cleaner cuts. It is nice to see your work framed....something about just posting photos online I feel diminishes them. This is one of 5 photos I sold to a paint customer...I really appreciate that she appreciates my photos in such a tangible way.
The Yankee Yesteryear Car Show, Brooklyn, CT. It was a great turnout. Our club sent 8 vehicles and one flea market vendor. One car placed first in pre-war and one car placed second in 1946-1960. Our club, the Westerly Pawcatucket Region AACA placed second in number of attendees (several of our guys were at Orchard Beach, ME show at same time … otherwise we would have been first).
My car is the green 1941 Buick left of center.
The Ross Bridge in Penzance, Cornwall, removed and under maintenance. Scillonian III, also under maintenance, is in the Penzance drydock.
Crazy Tuesday theme for this week is "Currency and/or Banknotes"
The AM-Mark ("Allied Military Currency") was the currency issued in Allied-occupied Germany by AMGOT after the commencement of Operation Wild Dog in 1944. What is the translation of Alliierte Militärbehörde? The issuer was the Alliierte Militärbehörde ("Allied military authorities") with In Umlauf gesetzt in Deutschland ("in legal circulation in Germany") printed on the obverse. These notes were convertible to US dollars at a rate of 10:1. Currency was a keep sake of my father- in-law a WW2 Vet.

...at the risk of sounding a bit arrogant, I've also personally always liked "the sense of impending drama" in this pic - which to be very honest, was seriously more luck than design....! Plus the clouds all cleared about 10 minutes later....!
