CSXT GE B40-8 #5962 was built Conrail #5063 in 1988. When Conrail was split up between NS and CSX, it became Norfolk Southern #4800. A few years later, NS and CSX traded some locomotives and that's when it became CSXT #5962 still wearing NS black upon entry into service.
CSXT SD40-2 #8105 was built as Louisville & Nashville (LN) #8105 in the summer of 1980. It later became Seaboard (SBD) #8105 briefly before becoming CSXT 8105. After this shot was made, CSX rebuilt it to SD40-3 #4013. It was caught here leading the then-daily Cayce-Sumter, SC turn on the Eastover Sub. I photographed it in Columbia.
