For class project, take a favorite singer/band and redesign their website. Out of three design ideas, chose to work with this one. Have some things to fix such as changing the scroll bar, but overall liked the idea. Only included screen shots of three links.
Brian Warren and I both contributed a chapter to the 7th edition of HTML5 and CSS3 Visual QuickStart Guide from Peachpit Press. It's now available and in stores near you.
It's for a noob audience, so if you know what you're doing, you might not learn much. But if you know someone who's interesting in learning HTML and CSS, you could do worse than a book such as this one.
