Afrontamos el rediseño de la web de ACH Arquitectos con la ventaja de que tanto el cliente como nosotros teníamos claro lo que queríamos. No obstante, la web anterior la diseñó nuestro estudio hace cuatro años y conocemos desde hace mucho tiempo a los integrantes de este reconocido estudio de arquitectura canario. Nuestro compañero Arístides diseñó una interfaz minimalista, en la que la fotografía de los proyectos es la estrella y los paneles de información se retiran para dar protagonismo a la imagen. David programó la web sobre nuestro gestor de contenidos habitual, adaptado a las especificidades de cada cliente, y realizó la maquetación en HTML5 y CSS3. El diseño es adaptivo, lo que quiere decir que dependiendo del dispositivo desde el que se vea, el diseño se transforma para adaptarse al tamaño de la pantalla, con lo que se puede disfrutar de igual manera en un equipo de sobremesa o en un smartphone.

This is an example of using the Advanced Column layout specified in the W3C CSS3 specification.

The areas shaded in gray are specified as being @ (meaning that content not allocated to a position will go here) and then the top middle is labelled a, and then the ones below are labeled b and c going from left to right.

The problem at present with this specification though is that where does content go that is flowing through the boxes labelled @ but runs out of space? Is it truncated? Or is it put somewhere else?

There is also no way of changing the width or the height of the individual boxes making it even more inflexible.

This is a problem I realised and brought up at the recent "Transcending CSS: Modern Techniques For Designing A Beautiful Web" workshop run by Andy Clarke of Stuff and Nonsense. It's one of those things that will have been noticed by someone before no doubt - but one of the many things that the W3C need to be made aware of so they fix it!

Another question I have is whether it's possible to specify which order the @'s get used in.
