A distant shot from the airport perimeter.
N748D and G-AYIM of Janes Aviation with "IM" on nosewheel door, she had N687AP reserved but later cancelled in October 2014, presumably for spares reclamation.
N748D has construction number 1689 and was built in 1971 for Mount Cook Airlines of New Zealand and became ZK-DES. Became G-SOEI with Emerald Airways (for Securicor/Omega Express) of Blackpool, England. That company folded around 2006 and lots of HS748's were stored there until dispersed/sold or scrapped. N748D made one last flight to Southend for further storage in 2009. She was registered in Kenya as 5Y-CHD in April 2017, still there in July of that year.
G-AYIM has c/n 1687 and was built in 1970 for SATA Acores (or Azores in the Atlantic), serving with them as CS-TAG until 1990. G-AYIM was acquired by Blackpool based Emerald Airways until parked in 2006. To Janes Aviation (ex Emerald staff?) in 2008 but did not last long.
