for MosaicMontageMonday: sophistication

(I am back with Clare in 2013 visiting House for an Art Lover in Glasgow.)

I don't know exactly what it is either...

It's an artwork I saw in the Japanese pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2003. I loved the lack of colour, the snaking cables, the feeling that it is old and futuristic at the same time.

I think it says CRM 114 on the side. When I searched for that on google, I found japanese sites about Stanley Kubrick, but I don't understand the connection.

This 767 was one of a total of 14 Boeing B.767-300ERs operated by the Italian flag carrier, and was named 'Amerigo Vespucci', after the ancient Italian explorer and navigator, who realized that the lands discovered by European explorers - including Christopher Columbus - to the West were not part of Asia, but an entirely new continent, which became known as the Americas, after Vespucci's first name Amerigo.

Registered as EI-CRM, it was captured taxiing up for an at that time runway 09L departure back to Rome-Fiumicino, and displaying Alitalia's livery of that time.

EI-CRM was returned to the lessor in 2011 and leased to Condor as D-ABUK in August 2011. It remained active with Condor until early 2024,when it was withdrawn from use and stored at Marana-Pinal Airpark in June that year. It has meanwhile been partially scrapped, after all useful parts were removed.

Dog mountain trail on the Washington side of the Gorge.

From Portland take 84 East to the Bridge of the Gods, right on 14 for 12 miles.

Big parking lot on the left hand side.

I recommend taking the harder trail (to the left, then splits to the right with signs)

because this hike is very popular and there was less traffic on the harder trail.

Taking the popular way back down there's a right turn a little ways in that is just a bit steeper, again with lesser traffic.
