At Church Camp, we got our first shot of the CP unit leading an Eastbound sand train back towards Ottumwa at Church Camp.
CP train 8BAL-30 rockets North with a train consisting of half empty CWR cars and junk freight fill for Sudbury behind a crisp looking 5957 and 6055.
Many things have changed since this photo was taken. Firstly, this branch to Aveiro harbour is now electrified, so there's no need for diesel traction here. Secondly, CP no longer makes freight trains, since the freight division was bought by MSC / Medway. And, finally, these cement trains that were previously regular in this branch, are not made as often or are not made at all. Here we see the diesel locomotive 1973 with a cement train to Aveiro harbour.
CP train 100 heads east after working Lambton and makes its way towards Agincourt on the North Toronto Sub.
CP 119 through Cherrywood with a odd choice of power! Pair of CN gevos leads the way from Mtl with a huge string of solid auto racks.
CP Extra 5989 West passes the old elevator at Elmstead Ontario, mile 100.9 on the CP's Windsor Sub. The elevator still stands, though it was repurposed into a 3 story office tower. www.flickr.com/photos/mile27/15972376244/in/album-7215762...
The Canadian National has a spectacular bridge over the Fraser River at Cisco, British Columbia, but Canadian Pacific’s crossing there is pretty awesome too. An eastbound CP grain train immediately exits a tunnel and crosses the Fraser on this elegant truss bridge on September 28, 2001.
CP train 100 passes the Searchlight Signals at Essa Siding on the Mactier Sub, after meeting 113 at Baxter they will have a straight shot to Vaughan and eventually Toronto.
CP TE11 returns to Welland Yard after some interchange work at Southern Yard, SOO 4410 leading the way.

Thirty three years ago to the day sees a couple "Bigs" in charge of Montreal-Chicago train 501 as they ease their way into the Detroit River Tunnel.
A frame I took about a year ago. I hustled carelessly to get the shot and smashed my knee in the process. Got the shot, just cringing.
Crossing the C&O's Subdivision No. 2, green-flagged CP 4208 West passes the old control tower at mile 63.7 on the CP's Windsor Sub at Chatham Ontario 10/18/1970.
Yes, this is CP 244 with the main competition taking the lead which is always nice. Even better, the sun is shining and blue skies. CN 5611 leads CP 8206 down the Galt sub on the approach to the 7th concession crossing headed east to Toronto.
