The main thing is to survive!
The mouse was more witty than the cat, it survived.
For me, the cat here is a symbol of Covid19 and the mouse is the symbol for us humans in the face of the threat of the virus.
Let's hope we're more witty.
The Cathedral of the Transfiguration is a Catholic Byzantine house of worship named in honour of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. The land on which the Cathedral stands was donated by the late Stephen Roman which "he built as a beacon of religious freedom". The Cathedral was modeled on a church in Novy Ruskov, the Slovak village where Mr. Roman was raised. Its cornerstone and altar stone were blessed by Pope John Paul II during his 1984 visit to Canada, marking this the first time a Roman Pontiff consecrated a church in North America. The traffic light is green for pedestrians but there is no one crossing the road. People are queuing for their turn to shop for groceries. I notice the tiredness in the eyes, the resignation as if there was no tomorrow. Who reads, who consults smartphones and who silently observes in a vacuum. Many electronic eyes monitor and a megaphone ready to speak. The traffic light is always green and I hope it is hopeful for everyone.
Maybe once, we will ask ourself why people where masked in the street. Maybe once, Covid19 will be a story like 'Spanish Flu' in 1918.
From 1918 to 1919, a particularly virulent and contagious influenza virus called "Spanish flu" broke out in the United States, then in Europe, before spreading to all continents. Contrary to the name attributed to it, Spain is not, however, at the origin of the Spanish flu. The virus was named so because at that time Spain, which was not engaged in World War I, was not subject to censorship. Unlike her neighbors who seek to hide their dead, she freely and publicly publishes information about this disease, hence the name "Spanish flu". A real human and health disaster, the Spanish flu will last two years. More deadly than the Black Death of the 14th century, the Spanish flu claimed two to five times as many victims as the First World War which took place at the same time...

J'ai tellement aimƩ cette ville (durement touchƩe) et tellement aimƩ ce film:
seen in Goslar/ Harz in the morning, when all Europeans were ordered to return to their home, churches were closed and hospitals were full.
To believe on kismet, karma, fate, god's will or devil's revenge allow to live a somnambulic life. Science, scepticism, principle of scientific falsification, public control of scientific findings, democratic separation of powers are relevant to give next generations a chance to live in dignity.
I ended up inadvertently taking a wee photographic tribute to COVID19 frontline workers last night. I was shooting the Belfast City Hall, which was lit up blue for the weekly tribute to National Health Service workers, which takes place every Thursday night during the epidemic, when I had to get out of the way as two buses came down Donegall Place behind me. But I reset quickly and they turned at the perfect moment!
The point being NHS workers are obviously frontline staff, but so are bus drivers, many of whom have died around the word, and so are a lot of council staff, especially the binmen/refuse collectors.
The focal point of Belfast's central business district, its 1898-1906 City Hall with its famous copper dome effectively divides the city's main retail and business districts. It was during this period, at the height of Belfast's industrial heyday, that the city briefly overtook Dublin as Ireland's most populous.
The architect was Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas. The city hall in Durban, South Africa, is virtually identical.
On The Go...
Yesterday was Costco day... we are running low on the essential supplies and the basics; so it is time to get out to our local Costco to overstock with those items you can only get there.
While on our way down we got delayed by the Go train. this slowed us down a bit but i managed to catch the train just as it was crossing Mill street.
Once at Costco we noticed the line up went all the way down and around the building.. We donned our masks, put on our gloves and lined up with all the hundreds of other people. It is a strange new world we live in when going out requires a hazmat suit. but that is the time we find ourselves in as evidenced by the long line up... we are certainly not alone, Our brave new world has us isolated, socially distanced and herded like cattle.
