Abandon Chelsea Motel along US Route 66. Before the interstate by passed it, I bet this was full every night. Although abandon, the property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Last weekend, finally out of lockdown, I ventured out to visit friends living near Chelsea Harbour. Before the pandemic, I was often out late in this area with my tripod - here is one of those shots.
Magnificent display of knitted poppies - yes knitted! - at the Chelsea Flower Show, with the Royal Chelsea Hospital as backdrop.

December 2021. New York City. After many years of renovations, the hotel reopened in 2022.
From the wikipedia: Over the years, the Chelsea has housed many notables, among them Mark Twain, Dylan Thomas, Arthur Miller, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Arthur C. Clarke, Patti Smith, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Virgil Thomson.

The original bridge dated from 1858.
The current bridge was opened in 1937 by the Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King.
At the bottom is Grosvenor Rail Bridge, opened in 1860.
At the top is the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home to the Chelsea Pensioners, with there very distinctive uniforms.
Founded by King Charles ll in 1682, and designed by Sir Christopher Wren, it opened in 1692.
And to this day it cares for around 300 army veterans.

The City of Chelsea is located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. In 2010 this Boston suburb had a population of 35,177.
Chelsea with a plate full of sprinkles for Smile on Saturday theme of “Sprinkles.”
The sprinkles are Halloween sprinkles, but Chelsea doesn’t mind, she says they taste the same!
