ā€œAll you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.ā€

Quote from Charles M. Schulz, creator of the legendary Charlie Brown and Snoopy.

Charlie Brown apparently loves the blooming dwarf lilac on my roof terrace and willingly posed for a photo. He and his brother Leo are my niece's cats but they stayed with me for 2 days as my niece and her boyfriend were away. Charlie is the kind of cat who feels at home wherever you put him whereas Leo needs some time to get used to the situation (which is almost imposible in just 2 days).

I post this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Flowers".

Sorry for being behind with commenting (again), my life is complicated at the moment. I will not be able to catch up with all your photos as I more or less only pop in to post this photo for Caturday but I hope that things will get better next week.

This is for the Happy Caturday theme "Happiness is ...". For Charlie Brown happiness is to discover something new and exciting, like the wrapping paper at my niece's birthday in March. It sparkled, it made interesting noises and offered lots of entertainment, what more can you ask for.

Happy Caturday !

Charlie Brown watching the world outside the window of my sister's guest room. I think he really enjoys seeing other places and being able to look into a garden. Watching birds and other cats is a particularly exciting experience. :)

For those who don't know him yet, this is Charlie Brown, my niece's cat, and I post this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "favourite part". Charlie is a sweet and very handsome cat and I love everything about him but I'm always fascinated by his round face, amber eyes and black nose. This is the main reason why I took this photo and I only realised later that I could use it for the theme. Happy Caturday !

It's summer and my niece is on holidays, which is why Charlie and Leo stay with me for a week. Charlie immediately headed outside onto the roof terrace to find out if his beloved zebra grass is still there. It is and Charlie is happy. :)

Posted for the Happy Caturday theme "Summer Colours".

Here is Charlie again looking quite happy among the flowers on my roof terrace. He clearly enjoyed inspecting all the plants which is something he can't do on the small balcony in his own home.

To be honest the only colour Charlie Brown can lose is the orange colour of his eyes, the rest of him is grey. :) I post this photo for the Happy Caturday group theme "black & white". As I have posted captures of Charlie Brown all week, I thought I should choose one of his photos for Caturday too. For those who don't know him yet, Charlie Brown is the cat of my niece and stays with us for a week at the moment because my niece is on holidays.

Happy Caturday everyone !

Yesterday was my niece's birthday and as I arrived at her home during daytime for a change I managed to take a few photos of Charlie Brown (his brother Leo hid in the bedroom as there were too many people for his taste). Occasionally I will post some more captures of Charlie as I know that he has his own fans among my Flickr friends. :)

The week which Charlie Brown and his brother Leo stayed with me was the so far hottest week of the year. I let them out onto the roof terrace early in the morning and late in the evening because during the day it was simply far too hot. Towards the end of their "holidays" with me they even stayed outside all night (together with Tofu) and they enjoyed it a lot.

The message is clear, I think !:) Charlie and Leo loved to watch the birds on my roof terrace. Especially in the early morning and the evening the birds visit a tube feeder which sits high up on a pole and out of reach of the cats. Birdwatching may be something Charlie misses now that he has returned home.

This is Charlie Brown watching my niece Natalie preparing a pasta salad for dinner when it was her birthday. Apparently he was hoping that it wouldn't end up in his food bowl and - of course - it didn't. :)

Happy Tongue Tuesday from Charlie ! I don't know if he was sticking the tongue out at Tofu, at the birds or at life in the hot summer weather in general but he looked funny !:)

Here are Charlie and Leo out on the roof terrace yesterday evening.I only let them out in the morning and in the evening as it is too hot during the day and they sleep in the afternoon anyway. They are doing well, I honestly had expected more problems, especially with Leo but even he is quite relaxed now.

Only Charlie knows what he was seeing when he sat on the kitchen counter and looked out of the window ! :)

This is my niece Natalie with her cat Charlie Brown. Charlie wouldn't allow anybody else to hold him like this. Natalie can do it because he loves her and trusts her completely. I think the photo might suit this week's Happy Caturday theme "Affection".

Happy Caturday everybody !

Just a fun snapshot of Charlie Brown during an encounter with the Dragon at the window. Charlie doesn't have access to the garden but he is allowed to go out onto the roof terrace and that is probably his favourite place in the house.

Sorry for the dirty window but we have had a LOT of rain lately. :)

Luckily Charlie got his ears back quickly. Not that he really needs them for hearing or - God forbid ! - listening to the human but he looks definitely better with ears !

You will probably see photos of Charlie Brown all week as he is my main photo model at the moment. Unlike his brother Leo he enjoys his '"holidays" with us, it's all an adventure for him and he loves adventures. Leo is still hiding but occasionally he moves from one hideout to another. :)

After yesterday's photo of Leo here is another one of his big brother Charlie. During his visit last week, Charlie immediately rediscovered the grass on my roof terrace, a plant which doesn't look great as Tofu loves it too. It's a zebra grass and as it grows the grass blades develop a striped pattern (if the cats ever allow them to reach that stage).

When Charlie stayed with me for two days recently, he enjoyed being outdoors on the roof terrace again. Like Tofu he is an avid birdwatcher but unlike Tofu he would try to catch one if he could. Luckily the birds were too smart, they have probably been trained by Sethi.

One of the things Charlie enjoys most whenever he visits me is watching the birds. At his own home he usually never gets as close to birds as he does on my roof terrace, especially as the birds around here seem to think that cats are harmless because they are used to Tofu. Luckily Charlie doesn't seem to be an ambitious hunter either.

I had to revert to a photo of Charlie Brown today, taken in August when he and Leo spend a week at our home, as I had no time for new cat photos today and our cats seem to hibernate anyway. The butterfly above Charlie's head is an old and rusty garden decoration and looks bigger in this photo than it really is. As it doesn't move, Charlie wasn't interested in it at all. :)

When Charlie Brown stayed with us for a weekend, he inspected every single plant on the roof terrace. The one he liked most was the lavender, apparently the scent is even better than catnip. :)

Not exactly a beautiful portrait of Charlie but I thought it was funny. :)

Another photo of Charlie Brown taken on my roof terrace. He felt at home there again right away and enjoyed his time outdoors whereas his brother Leo preferred to hide somewhere in the house. Unlike Leo who is a sensitive plant, Charlie takes it as it comes.

Yesterday was my niece's birthday and the family came together at her home in the afternoon. Leo hid under the bed but Charlie made an appearance and I could take a few photos of him for his Flickr friends.

This is Charlie waiting next to the birdbath for a visit of our feathered friends. Tofu would tell him that this is a waste of time as he has more or less spent days waiting for the birds there with no success. What a surprise !:)

It was early evening and only minutes before my niece arrived to pick Charlie up and take him back home, when a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky while Charlie sat on the scratch post on the terrace. I haven't seen many rainbows in the last few years and I'm very happy that this one appeared at the right time to allow me to take this photo of our little guest. It was a perfect end to our 10 days with Charlie Brown.

Here is another capture of Charlie Brown with the Aperol bottle, just because I think they look good together and the bottle makes a nice splash of colour in his photos. :)

One week is over, Charlie and his brother Leo will return home later today. In a way I will miss them but I'm happy that things worked quite well, even if Leo was a bit of a challenge. Charlie certainly enjoyed the experience a lot more than is little brother. My own cats will probably be rather relieved if they can finally wave goodbye to their cousins but Tofu will also miss the entertainment. I'm proud of Cleo and Tofu because they coped so well with the presence of other cats in their home.

During this week I have taken quite a lot of photos. I will continue to post photos of Charlie (and a few of Leo too) for a while, maybe once a week or whenever none of our cats wants to be a photo model. :)

This is Charlie checking out a bottle of Aperol on the kitchen counter. He was probably wondering how people can drink something like this. :)

Day 4 with Charlie Brown. In the meantime he has discovered the possibilities of the scratch post on the terrace. He climbs up there like a monkey, but getting down again is a different story and his technique leaves room for improvement. The scratch post offers a lovely and exciting view over the neighbouring gardens and (most important) the activities of THE BIRDS !

I have mentioned before that Charlie Brown loved all the plants on my roof terrace and the Plumbago was no exception. The poor Plumbago lost several flowers due to the excessive kitty attention but it has recovered in the meantime. :)

I haven't posted a photo of Charlie in a while, so here is one I took when he spent a weekend with us in September. He sat on the living room table next to some artificial autumn leaves. The leaves are part of an LED lighted autumnal garland and I swear that it looks better at night. :)

It's Charlie Brown's 7th day with us. I couldn't take any new photos of him today as it was too wet outside and too dark inside. Yesterday was better and he spent much time on the terrace again where he loves to hide under plants and try to be invisible. His bright eyes betray him, though.

Little Charlie in his home where he lives with my niece Natalie and her boyfriend Kevin. When I took this photo my Dad was installing a fly screen in their bedroon window and Charlie absolutely wanted to "help". I tried to distract him by throwing toy mice down the stairs and he waited for the next one.

Tonight I will probably see him again as I will have to feed him. My niece Natalie and Kevin both have to work and won't be at home when it's time for Charlie's dinner.

Another capture of the handsome Charlie Brown who seemed to enjoy posing for me when he stayed with us for a weekend. What he enjoyed even more was the time outdoors on my roof terrace which is full of plants under which he could hide.

Here is another capture of Charlie Brown, taken on the occasion of my niece's birthday. He had lots of fun with the wrapping paper, the boxes and - most of all - with the ribbons. I think his brother Leo had fun with them too as soon as the guests had left and he could reappear from under the bed ... :)

When Charlie and Leo staýed with us for a weekend, Charlie's main occupation was to shadow my cats. He wasn't very interested in playing, at least not with toys, only the autumn leaves on the terrace managed to catch his interest for a moment.

Charlie Brown and his brother Leo stayed at my home for 2 days in late December when my niece and her boyfriend moved into another apartment. I mainly saw them early in the morning and later in the afternoon when it was already dark because I had to help my niece during the day. This is one of the few photos i managed.

Just a fun capture of Charlie Brown, taken when he stayed with us for a week recently. He was chewing on the Zebra grass and his expression immediately reminded me of the Cheshire cat. :)

Another capture of Charlie Brown taken during his holidays with us. He loved to sit outside on my huge roof terrace where he could hide under plants, ambush Tofu or Fynn and listen to the noises of birds and insects. Now he is happily back home, a place where for now he is the only cat but there he is KING. :)

Charlie Brown is a typical kitten, curious. playful and always on the move but he is quite relaxed too. Visitors don't worry him, he simply thinks that they are just there for his entertainment. So far he seems to like the camera, probably because whenever I point the camera at him he can be sure that he is the centre of my attention.

Day 8 with Charlie Brown. I wonder if he will miss all the entertainment in this house or if he will have to sleep 10 days in a row to recover as soon as he will return home on Sunday. For now he makes the best of his holidays here and doesn't get much sleep during the day. There are simply too many interesting things to do.

Little Charlie Brown when he was hiding under a wooden board on his balcony. Unlike my other cat models he always looks at me when I call him (at least for now) which makes taking photos a lot easier. :)

I have mentioned before that Charlie loves being outdoors on the roof terrace. He has a balcony in his home too but it is smaller and lacks plants. Charlie really enjoys inspecting the all plants here and his favourite is definitely the zebra grass. I took several photos of him with this grass and you will probably see some more in the near future. :)

As Charlie Brown is a young and curious cat, he notices everything going on around him and he is always ready to jump into action. I mainly post this photo because I love his expression here. As far as I remember he had set his eyes on a bee ...

On Sunday I managed to take some more photos of Charlie Brown although this isn't as easy as it seems. He is the kind of cat who is either asleep or on the move. In this case he wanted to ambush Cleo but she noticed him and told him in no uncertain terms that this wasn't a great idea.

Day 11 with Charlie Brown. It's his bonus day here as he will return home today but only this evening. Here he is with polar bear Anton, another one of his new friends. :) He enjoyed one more very active and exciting day with Fynn and the Dragon and chaos kitten behaved quite nicely. Right now his bags are packed and we are waiting for Natalie to pick him up. Don't feel too sorry for him, though, he has a home where he is loved very much and Charlie is a kind of cat who adapts to new circumstances quite quickly. He didn't seem to miss his home during the time he spent here and I doubt that he will miss us when he is back where he belongs. I have taken quite a lot of photos of him and will post some more occasionally, And maybe he will return for another holiday in the near future, who knows. If not, I will certainly visit him at his home.

Day 6 with Charlie Brown. He is always hungry but prefers to eat the food the others get instead of his own while Cleo has discovered that Charlie's kitten kibbles are her favourite food from now on.....
