These are Western or Common Canada Geese, one of 7 varieties that can be seen in the Tualatin River Valley during the winter months. Most of these will head North soon into Canada and Alaska. Some will stay at Jackson Bottom Wetlands and nest here.

One of the neatest stations on the Canada Line, located on the south east corner of Broadway and Cambie. It makes the best use of the rise in ground level by providing a longish but stepless approach to the passage over the tracks. The eastbound #99B Line bus stop has been conveniently relocated to the station forecourt. This makes transfers between the Canada Line and the SkyTrain at Broadway and Commercial easy and quicker than going downtown.

The connection from the westbound B Line is something else. Two major roads to cross. Additional entrances are not going to be added when Broadway subway opens but the transfers will be underground. stephenrees.blog/2019/09/23/broadway-at-cambie/

The tasteful simplicity of the structure is quite pleasing. The City owns the site and of course the air rights and the design permits a larger building around and above it. That hasn't happened in the last ten years, but it might.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, is a Canadian city at the famous waterfalls of the same name, linked with the U.S. by the Rainbow Bridge. Its site on the Niagara River's western shore overlooks the Horseshoe Falls, the cascades' most expansive section. Elevators take visitors to a lower, wetter vantage point behind the falls.

Canada explained by Tom Brokaw

Never be ashamed to say that you're Canadian is my advice to everyone. Canada is a federal state governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. The country is officially bilingual at the federal level.

There is no need to make any comments or faves.

I most likely won't be returning them because I have dropped out of the commenting rat race.

I don't want to be unkind but the comment game is pointless and a gross waste of time.

If you like my pictures and want to comment then tell me why you do or do not like them.

Please feel completely free NOT to comment or fave my pictures.

Please read my profile.

There you will also find my thoughts on Explore and my Flickr philosophy.

Because I care, I photoshop each and every picture I don't throw away.

Gagetown, N.-B.

Members of the Royal 22nd Regiment 2ndt Battalion secure the zone for the arrival of the Chief of defense staff General Walter Natynczyk in the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Gagetown training area, New Brunswick.

Between April 10 and May 9, 2012, more than 4000 soldiers from the 5th Mechanized Brigade Group of Canada (5 GBMC) practiced in the areas of Garrison Gagetown during INTREPIDE LION exercise. With its diverse landforms, Garrison Gagetown provides military training with a different environment and a wider field of operations.

A westbound is just leaving town right behind the VIA train. I do remember the hordes of black flies swarming around me as I shot this photo.

During the 1870s the Montreal architect Victor Bourgeau designed the high altar, choir stalls and reredos (altarpiece), with statues sculpted in pine by the French artist Henri Bouriché. All the decorative woodwork motifs were executed in black walnut. The statues were delivered in 1875.

Curé Rousselot himself devised the decorative theme for the sanctuary to illustrate the true meaning and significance of the sacrament of the Mass and the Eucharist.

Canada Goose - Branta canadensis. Durrus, Cork, Ireland. This goose was all alone on the shore, and kept trying to join a nearby flock of ducks (mallard? - see below). They weren't interested, and kept swimming away!
