One of my main reasons for visiting Newfoundland, this “landlocked fjord” is an incredible place!

We were told that the “moderate 3km hike” to get from the car park to the dock for the boat tour would take us 45 minutes. (In Scots parlance, “Aye, right” would be used sarcastically, in response to this.) In reality, it took us two and a half hours - with many breaks for picnics, wee rests and longer rests... I think the 3km cited is actually AS THE CROW FLIES and doesn’t consider the many twists and turns in the trail... Sorry, rant over.

This is one of the most amazing and scenic places I’ve ever seen. I was thrilled to bits to take the two hour boat tour. Just a stunning location.

It was hot, then, typically, the clouds rolled in...then rolled away, and back again.

Here, from the boat, the entrance to the fjord. These imposing cliffs are about 600m (2,000ft) from the lake or Pond’s surface.

I thought the light was beautiful through these colours.

Recent economic development in Vietnam is remarkable.

Vietnam used to be a "least developed" country when Doi Moi economic reform was introduced in the late 1980s. World Bank still categorises Vietnam into a lower-middle income economy, but Vietnam's GDP per capita on the PPP basis is already above $10,000 according to WB as the prices are cheap and/or Vietnamese Dong is under-evaluated.
