Location courtesy of neiln12, this has been off the road since 2019. Despite it having a new owner recorded in 2019, it appears on this street as far back as 2008.

Sold used at Jessups Vauxhall of Romford.

Scrapped, if you can believe it. Had been off the road since 2019, and though it comes up as having acquired a new owner that year, it'd definitely been in the same household for at least 35 years. Shame.

Bohemian Waxwing / bombycilla garrulus. Hassop, Derbyshire. 29/12/23.

As well as watching my local Waxwing flock in December, 2023, there was breaking news of a flock of c350+ birds feeding on hawthorn berries in the Derbyshire Dales. Soon afterwards lots of mouth watering images appeared on social media and included birds on the ground, drinking water. These were enough to prompt a visit, because it's long been a wish of mine to photograph Waxwings on the ground.

The birds had attracted a huge number of admirers and it was extremely crowded whilst I was there ... definitely not my preferred scenario! Any hope of finding birds dropping down to puddles on/near the track was out of the question. I'd almost resigned myself to just watching the Waxwings feed and use the time to plan for a quieter post-Christmas visit. However, then I noticed birds dropping down into a field the other side of a low stone wall. Further investigation showed they were drinking from puddles in wheel rut depressions. Blades of grass and other vegetation made focusing challenging and inevitably birds were partially obscured. Making images proved really hard work, lots were immediately assigned to Trash and just a few record shots were my reward.

My first IDEAS project is ready!! The Sorcerer's Tower, a huge medieval tower with a workshop in the top.

A funny Mercedes C350 with a complete BS Kit. Looks great but the sound is not really like a original AMG. Haha like this one. So I uploaded it.

Roseate Tern is Europe's rarest breeding seabird but its fortunes are on the up. In the 1970s there were just 16 breeding pairs on Coquet Island in Northumberland but this year there were a record-breaking 118 pairs. Unlike the other European terns, Roseates like to nest in crevices and hollows which are often in short supply on their nesting islands. They started putting nestboxes out in 2000 when the population was just 34 pairs. Now there are 200 next boxes on specially built terraces and the population has reached its record 118 pairs (c350% rise since 2000). This is Britain's only regular breeding site with just occasional birds nesting elsewhere.

That tiny little green device on the Roseate Tern's left leg is a datalogger. Twenty of these were attached to Roseate Tern adults this summer on Coquet Island. When they return to nest next year, the dataloggers can be retrieved and the data downloaded. This will give an accurate map with timings of where each bird has spent its time. This will be important in identifying their breeding season fishing grounds, plus their migration route, and the wintering grounds. All of this information will be really useful in the conservation of Roseate Tern, the rarest breeding seabird in Europe. For comparison of rarity the UK population of Roseate Tern is fewer than 125 pairs, whereas the Arctic Tern numbers 53,000 pairs.

The diagnostic features of Roseate Tern are long tail streamers, which are much longer than the wing tips when perched. Also the bill is largely black, always with much more black on the tip than Common Tern. In early spring they have a pink flush to the breast which gives rise to the name. This preening adult was photographed from a boat just of Coquet Island in Northumberland.
