The C218 CLS is the second generation model, and was sold from 2011 to 2018. The body styles of the range are a 4-door coupé (C218 model code for Europe/ W218 for US market), and a 5-door estate (X218 model code, marketed as Shooting Brake). The design of the CLS was based on the Mercedes F800 concept and featured design cues from other models including the Mercedes SLS AMG.Unlike its predecessor, the C218 CLS is available with all-wheel drive and can be optionally configured on CLS63 AMG models as well.In 2014, the CLS underwent a facelift and featured design changes, engine enhancements, and the adoption of the Mercedes 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
C218 is seen passing P347 at the entrance to Broadstone. P347 was heading to the ITT Rally in Bangor.
Not on the Whitworth Valley Way (or "the Wibbly Wobbly Way" as it was sometimes known, due to that wavey branding), but the 17 to Rochdale instead.

The shores of Lake Como aren't exectly far from Monaco, and I could see quite a few Monegasque plates, but spotting all of them wasn't always possible. Naturally, this Benz was an AMG.

I haven't spotted one ot those in a long time and I'm assuming I haven't spotted much since then. It's a cool vehicle, but also one of the more common AMGs around. At least until it was replaced.

Bovenstaande Duitser wisselt regelmatig van kleur, want was al eerder in een soort bordeauxrood en in het chrome goud gespot. Nu rijdt hij rond met een vieze kleur oranje.

The German above regularly changes color, because it was spotted already in a sort of burgundy and gold chrome. Now he drives around with a dirty orange color.

The S 63 is a cool car, it looks badass in all black.
It's a bit common, but since it's going to be replaced soon, it can be appreciated even more while stile possible.

This week's highlight is another transcontinental plate, this time from Northern Africa, like many highlight, which is understandable. Unlike our French, Belgian and Dutch neighbors, we don't get to spot that many Maghrebian plates here. DĂ¼sseldorf is an exception with many Moroccans living in and around the city. Naturally, this is attracting relatives - with upscale Mercedeses for once. I don't believe anyone wanted to go from Morocco to DĂ¼sseldorf in December for another reason than visiting friends or family.

And onther CLS 63! This time in a very beautiful matte paintjob. While many matte wraps look a bit cheap, Mercedes' matte paintjobs are incredibly well put off.
This color made this spot quite cool.

Not surprising to spot a Monegasque plate in Lugano, a place not too far from Monaco and very attractive, too.

The CLS 63 is a cool-looking car. It lost a bit of modernness to the X290, but I'm sure it'll be more appreciated in the future.
This particular one featured cool Brabus wheels and was, of course, from Switzerland.

I was surprised about this Swedish vanity plate in Prague, especially as "Samir" isn't a Czech name. But I was equally as happy. Not sure if this car was a gift and the "4" is meant to spell "for", or if it's just because another plate was already taken. It's got this weird spacing, too.

This nicely colored CLS was one of the nicer Romanian cars I've seen. It's also quite lovely to spot an upscale car that's not from Bucharest. There are many Romanian cars around, however.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023.over three generations. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. the second generation saw the addition of the Shooting Brake (Estate car) version.

The third generation C257 superseded the second generation from 2018, running to 2023, and was available as a four door Sedan.

This Russian plate is particularly interesting because it was pretty worn when I've seen it. It's common to see domestic cars with worn plates, same could be said for neighboring countries. I've seen various states of Russian plates, too, but that's just due to the frequency of them here. It's still somewhat interesting.

A handful of a name, for a great Mercedes-Benz. This CLS 63 AMG S from Qatar, was parked at the Dorchester. Unfortunately, this wore UK-remade plates. If i was going to buy one of these CLS's, i certainly wouldn't buy one in red i'm afraid.

This CLS is super odd and to this day I have my doubts whether it was real or not. The wrap looked terrible and the gaps are suspicious as well.

GMT standard Leyland Olympians 3218 C218 CBU and 3202 C202 CBU, parked up withdrawn at Weston Street after transfer from First Pennines Dukinfield depot. I have since found out that 3202 C202 CBU was sold to a dealer who sold her to France and now she resides there as an open top cinema bus, painted black and blue...!
